I never even considered the S2000 but the Zzz has at least two distinct advantages over it: looks & a stronger engine with more low end grunt.

I'm sure you can find a nice thread about this. It's one of those never ending battles that people like to bring up....over and over again.

If you would have looked for atleast 12 seconds, you would have seen a post already on this page....

I was so in love w/ the Z before i got it that i didnt consider the s2k... but after having the Z, i kinda wish i had at least looked at the s2k.

Reason being? The grass is always greener on the other side.

s2k's are really nice... verts... lightweight... and handle REALLY well. Excellent tranny too.

Im afraid right now that if i go test drive one, i might fall in love with it as well... and not be content w/ the Z, which i am right now.

The s2k just seems so much more of a classic car to me... i cant explain it.

I originally wanted to buy an S2000 when I first started looking for a car to replace my Miata. After I took one for a test drive, I was dissapointed in the lack of torque. The S is a great little car but after driving the Z I was hooked. I also like the styling of the Z more than the S. The reliability of the Honda I feel is a slight advantage over the Z but both, I feel, are great cars.

The S2000 was one of my considerations for buying the car before I bought the Z a month ago. I test drove an S2000, a WRX, and the Z. I fell in love with the Z the most, so I got it! But I do agree that the S2000 is a very nice car, I just like the Z more. If I didn't get my Z, I would have probably ended up going for an S2000.

S2k:
Handling - light, quick, precise, it's like the car is connected to your brain
Gear box - probably the slickest on the market
Style – beautiful to look at
Excellent car for weekend adrenaline rush

ZR:
Engine TQ - don't need RPM to extract power, doesn't even break a sweat
Top down wind management and engine noise - very comfortable car for high speed, long distance top down motoring, you can have meaningful conversations along the way
Style – even more beautiful to look at for me
High performance and very satisfying for day to day driving

For what I’m looking for at this stage of my life, ZR edged out the S.

Until April 30, I owned a Mazda RX-8. The car was destroyed by a girl who ran a stop sign. I just settled with the insurance company last week, and I decided against getting another 8 due to the incredibly bad gas mileage and the lack of horsepower (I didn't do the proper research before I bought the car, or I would have known about both things). This past weekend, I test drove an S2000, the new Eclipse, and the Z. I have a friend who has a WRX. None of these cars handles as well as the 8, but all of them are faster and get better mileage (except for maybe the WRX). The last car I drove was the Z, and I crossed all the rest of the cars off my list! While the S2000 is fun, it's tiny inside, the engine note is annoying, and you have to really be into the RPMs to feel anything. The Eclipse is a FWD and it's quick, but it has TONS of torque steer (imagine that, a 260 HP, 263 lb-ft torque FWD car with torque steer!). Finally, the Z - loved the interior (except for the seat controls, WTF?), not too small, no annoying 4 cyl whine, quick, and better on gas than the 8. Did some looking on Carmax, and I'm having them transfer a car to my location - a 2004 red Enthusiast Roadster with 7000 miles. I'll be picking it up next weekend.

S2000 looks like a miata! my friends laughed at me when I test drove one, If you have or had a 2000/99 Si coupe and test drove a s2000 it kinda feels the same I mean the S2 is faster but only when you hit 6k rpms thats when the vtec kicks in! but the S2 only has 150 tq lol!!!!!!!!

I cant stand S2Ks there to small it feels like ur driving a sardine can down the road plus i think the Z is way better lookin and has more potential, due to the high hp and torque. GET A Z !!!!!!!

The Z is the jack of all trades sports car, good at everything, not really a master in anything. The S2000 is the master when it comes to handling, but everything else becomes subjective on it (some people hate the noise, the TQ, the spacing, the looks, etc etc etc).

If your just a person that doesn't do any racing at all, I would recommend a Z. If you like doing more extreme things on the road + courses, I would recommend a S2000.

unless of course, you make a beast outta your Z..........

then it'll be good at everything...

i think the Z possibly has more potential than the s2k when it comes to modding?
