I was all for buying the G35c until I sat in it and saw the old man's interior. I then crossed it off my list.

If you look at a Touring Z vs. a base G35c, which makes them similarly optioned, they are about the same price. A base G35s is cheaper than the Z. I liked the interior of the Z better as well, even though in some ways the G35 was "nicer".

Because Infinity is the luxury divison of Nissan, and it has better features inside and looks more elegant.

Let's be honest, you want the Z to be all the center of attention irregardless of which car it is compared to. You can always skew your opinon to make your car look more attractive than the other.

On a pure economic stand point it will cost you more to by a G, because it comes with better seats etc etc etc. Obviously, it will cost more.

Everything from here on is opinions. Whether it be performance or creature conforts its all arbitrary. If you felt you bought the wrong car, then buy the right one and stop comparing the other car as a Peon.

there is no way in hell i'd ever pick a g35 coupe over a 350z. the g35 is like a daily driver, nothing special.

the 350z is a sportscar. hell, people always freaken ask me what kinda car i have, and always look at it when i come out of stores or restaurants. i believe its the 350z's aggressive roof line, flaring fenders, overal sex appeal. the g35 doesn't look this damn good.

i think for looks, the g35 looks like a scion tc while the 350z looks like a porsche. a bit beefier than a porsche.

what a wonderful community for g35 people to visit

1. from a 'pure economics' standpoint, there's more to consider. Try resale value and warranty for starters. the Z is good but is not beating the G in those areas.
2. who you happen to notice driving a car doesnt determine its class
3. Z owners should say nothing about the Ginterior's fit/finish/quality
4. the performance difference isnt that great

In any case, i guess the quality and accuracy of these responses answer the thread starters question. How ironic.

Isn't insurance on a G35 cheaper than a 350Z since it's not considered as a true sports car?

G doesn't come close to the the Heritage of our Zs. I don't dislike the G but for me it was not even an option.

i like both cars. and when modded, not too many cars can look as good as the z or g. i have a z and love the looks of it (big fenders, artistically placed lines), but i also stare when i see a g, especially a modded one.

It's cheaper because it's a 2+2.

They're both great cars. I just happen to choose the Z because it's a two seater. When it's time to have a family... I'll probably switch over to a G coupe.

I got the Z purely because of the way it looked compared to the G.

The G seemed ... heavier and more luxurious. I wanted a sports car.

The Z fits what I wanted almost perfectly. Could stand to lose a little weight but im not complaining... i got subs in the back of my car -.- WORST performance mod ... haha

I can kinda get away w/ it cuz im 5'11" 160lbs... not too heavy.

Haha...before I get married and have a family and having to drive a sedan, I want to at least say "I've owned a sports car"...not just a souped up honda or acura, but a car that is truely classified as a "sports car"...I love the G, it was what I was about to buy, and then a customer of mine traded in a Daytona Blue Z...I took it out for a weekend and 3 days later, I went out and bought a PPW...I never guessed the Z after that...

The G is designed and marketed as a more sophisticated version of the Z. Its interior, love it or hate it, has more bells and whistles then the Z. The ride is a little more cushy. It has a back seat (kinda). It can be had with a sun roof. It carries the Infiniti badge.

As far as an argument as to which one is better? That's subjective.
I have to agree with this statement. I wish I could have got a G35 for what I got the Z for. It was over 7K cheaper for me to go with the Z. I didn't need all of those extra bells and whistles. What dual air, leather and sunroof? That was about it as far as I was concerned. Those guys wouldn't budge at all. The Nissan guys bent over backwards to make it work out for me. I gave the Infinity guys two weeks to come around, they never did. The Nissan guys (2 dealers) knew I was a buyer and tried to win my business. Got all sorts of free stuff thrown in on the deal as well.

When I started out, I though for sure the insurance was going to be double. When I found out it was only 3.5% more for insurance on the Z.
I wanted a Z.

Or rich parents that feel guilty about not spending time with their kids.

I feel really fortunate that even though my parent divorced my they always had the time for us kids. If we got in trouble they were always there to correct us and keep us on the straight and narrow.
