I am going to bring these threads with me next time i bring it in. Did anyone else have an issue and Nissan not find the problem.

Thanks,

Yeah ive posted about my troubles getting my dealership to recognize that somthing is wrong with the tranny. Im not sure that bringing copies of the thread will work. Speaking from an experience with another service dept with another vehicle i was treated with contempt when i brought up the idea of internet forums discussing problems and possible solutions with my then currrent vehicle. Auto service depts seem to be in the dark ages when it comes to the idea of the internet forum as a tool for fixing problems. The bottom line is they dont want to know you or your problems.

Its frustating to feel that this car could have been much more with more of an effort from nissan.

hey, Jet. That was very informative. Thanks for putting up that link. I never knew that. I'm actually going to save that just in case, the dealership gives me hell about it. I just talked to one of the serives guys earlier and he admitted that most 350's that come in have had this problem and he just tries to swap them no hassle. He seems nice, but we'll see what happens this following monday when I actually take it in.

I was told today by my local Nissan dealership that if I put in an aftermarket clutch when they install my new transmission on monday (yeah the sychros are shot too) that the aftermarket clutch will void the new transmission warranty. I just smiled and said thats fine put the new clutch in. They have no idea what they are talking about.

They are so full of sh*t. The mobil 1 oil meets the mil-spec the factory oil does, and that's the only condition you must meet. Dealerships are liars, and should be held accountable. Don't let them get away with their disceptions. Call Nissan customer relations and if that doesn't work then you need to get a lawyer. You being cheated out of your warranty that you paid for. They are f*ckers.

When I told the dealership my tranny was grinding, they sent a mechanic out to drive my car... and I rode along. I said, "drive spirited, rev up 2nd a good bit and shift to 3rd kinda quickly" those exact words. He did, and GRRRIIIINNNNDDD as he put it in 3rd no doubt. He looked at me and said, "your synchros are definitely gone". So Nissan ordered a new tranny and within one week it was replaced, along with a new clutch pressure plate (dunno why) maybe it was worn or hot-spotted.

My car was at the dealership, getting an oil change with Mobil 1 when they told me they were replacing my transmission. Even threw in free labor to install a Nismo lightweight flywheel.

That really is a great link. Grazi, Jet Pilot!

It is terrible to see how many guys have got screwed with faulty transmissions. My car had to have a brand new rear end put in it after only 13K miles. It still is a bit too noisy for my tastes but considering the make and model, you have to put up with some noise.

By lurking around this forum I am already learning a lot about the 350Z's. I will tell my bro to watch for this in his and his g/f's Z. He was complaining about wheel hop and I just saw a post talking about it. Gonna go check it out now!
