Default Road debris

I am a truck driver and know all about exploding recaps. Sorry to the guy who has $3000+ damage from a truck tire. I always scan ahead when driving looking for dropped ladders, buckets and other crap. Night driving is riskier. I find the Z headlights not to beam out far at all.

What is your reason for this thread? You can adjust the headlights fairly easily, I had the same problem after installing my HID kit and adjusted to perfection.

The average Z owner does not adjust his headlights!

How do you adjust them? Yes you are right, they are defaulted very low and the high contrast sucks since its very bright what you can see up close but past the line of light everything is pitch black since your eyes can't even adjust to both conditions.

It has been said that if you point your headlights higher, you'll get the darker blue color like the Maxima and Altima's.

Here's a link on the how to:http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-003/index.asp

This is actually why I prefer the base car's headlights. They don't have as sharp a cut off from what I can tell.

I adjusted my lights because they were too low and have checked them numberous times to make sure I am not blinding anyone as I go down the road. I have not been flashed in the 350Z so I am sure they do not affect other drivers.

In each head lamp assy there is a worm gear looking thing that you take a screwdriver to and rachet up or down the headlight bucket. I do not see or believe it has side to side adjustment.

If I can come up with a picture or two I will post them.

Nice, Chris wrote that one up. I think that's the one I used two years ago and I didn't meet him until the RI-TI meet this year. He has since revised it and it is even more clear as to what to do. Woot !!

If you read this Chris, thanks. It might be a bit late but no less appreciated.

This Chris is the same Chris that made a booklet for us during the famous Lombard St / Pre SF run. He goes by the screename of hypersprite on this board. That booklet was great:

That was in conjunction with the RR-TI run. The guy does some awesome documentation and guidance. It looks like he actually tries to improve his work over time. Quality that I forget is so important for ongoing improvement of life. I know this is a bit sappy. But man, it nice to know someone out there still gives a hoot about this and is willing to share it with the rest of us for free!

About a year ago, I was going about 80mph at night on the hwy and I hit a truck tire STILL ON THE RIM! There was no way for me to avoid it as there were cars on both side of me. I swear my car flew up in the air a bit, along with causing 1200 worth of damage. Another time, I was driving on the hwy and a tow truck dropped a chain off the back of the truck, which scraped the hell out of the side of my door panel. That one is yet to be fixed. People really need to clean up after themselves before getting on the hwy, especially with tires and chains...

Yeah, i just couldn't pass up that photochop. It took time on the low res.
I am supposed to be working on a higher-res picture this weekend. That's going to take even more time. I think that is what the guys want to do. I mean send it to Nissan and all. I didn't chop out the BMW but I did the rest. Plus, they want to put in the 350Z calendar that is coming out soon. I think it has already been sumitted by one of the guys. Problem is they need it submitted in 7MP or better. I did this with my 3.2MP. So, I am using another guys 7MP shot of the same angle. We all stood on a trash can to get the shot. We'll have to see what happens.

Here it is again for those that haven't seen it:
