Default Winter Storage - Oil upper cylinders?

I am about to put my 350ZR in storage for the winter. I have noticed some recommendations to remove the spark plugs and spray oil into the upper cylinders - supposedly this is to prevent corrosion on the upper cylinder walls.

Similarly, I have seen recommendations that on start-up in spring, oil should be sprayed into the spark plug holes, to provide lubrication to the piston rings on start up.

I have some concerns that spraying oil into the cylinders will produce additional contaminants in exhaust that might foul-up the exhaust sensors.

Does anyone out there have any knowledge as to whether this is procedure is necessary or advisable?

just start her up once a week? its a lot easier, and i've doen it on older cars that weren't driven. If not ull get a nasty sounding startup noise teh first time after a few months. take her out for a quick spin to get everything lubed up :-D

Yea, I dont think people do those techniques any more. A lady came in at work last winter with an MG and asked the same thing, (i worked at a garage) and my boss (been working on cars for 30years) recommended against doing it, it can just cause more problems and more work later.

Like already mentioned, just start the car up once a week or even every 2 weeks and let it run for like 10 minutes. Im not driving my car this winter but I'll just go out once in a while and let it run for a little bit.

No guys, you change the plugs for moisture absorbing ones.... then you ''fog'' the whole thing.....
Works every time....
