I was told when they replaced mine that they don't fix them, they just replace it with a new tranny. I also heard that the "new" replacement tranny's were actually rebuilds. I will say... the new tranny is more notchy, and both 5th and 6th gears and kinda hard to shift into, atleast at lower speeds/rpms. I liked the '03 tranny better until the syncro's went out.
shiz... i hate how they are going to give me a tranny not as good as the original..... but then again at this point, almost anything is better than having it grind in 3rd gear up or down shifting unless it's babied into the gear... =/ i love a 100k mile warranty though!

tripmachine, judging from your join date, I assume you have a 05? If it is, it's one of the first 05's I heard of with a tranny problem. Keep us updated and also tell me how Connell Nissan handled everything. Thanks.
K Nissan called me.... they said they are going to replace the tranny and flywheel...... but asked if i wanted them to put a new clutch on for 350 dollars.... i have 24k miles on the car.... he said the clutches go out at like 35-40k miels... anyone think i should tell them i don't want the new clutch? opinions please.... i'm thinking i may as well pay 350 for the new clutch? thanks guys..
