Guys, a winston cup NASCAR weighs in at a minimum of 3400lbs without the driver. Now thats a pig considering it is totally stripped.

 

Need some mass in case you hit that hard concrete wall.

 

I think it has a wee bit more than 287 HP don't you think? LOL j/k

Have you seen the size of the rollcage?

Hardly any room for one person. Plus the brakes and rear axle are like HUGE! Then there's the big wheels, tires, steering wheel (haha) cameras, radio, 8 oil pumps, and 600 galons of fuel.

Oh don't forget the fire system, backup cameras, beefy transmission and the extra cup holders.

 

How big is a NASCAR engine? I assume they are limited to some sort of spec like most other classes. V8, perhaps 5 liter? An engine like that would add a lot of weight.

Oh, and doesn't your average NASCAR racecar run about 600-800hp? When you consider that, 3400 pounds doesn't sound so bad.

 

Not to mention no room for golf clubs in a NASCAR! Feh!

 

The really sucky thing about a NASCAR is that you have to find a new way to and from work. The cars only turn left.
