I need some advice on how to store the Z for the winter. I know the basic things to do is make sure the gas tank is full, raise the tire pressure and pull out the battery. anything else? thanks for you input.

 

I don't pull the battery but use a maintainer. (warm storage) I am parked on concrete so in addition to inflating the tires to 50psi, I park on pieces of 2' blueboard insulation.
I like to do a fresh oil change before she sits for 4 months, but that is not a necessity.

 

I'm no expert on this, but especially if you're storing in a detached (i.e. non-heated) garage, be aware of any water that gets into the garage. I'm in this situation and in addition to parking on blue foam tiles, I place a plastic moisture barrier under the car and prop it up on all sides. Water and general moisture gets under the car, but stays under the plastic drop cloth.

 

i would use some of the gas saver stuff they sell, and just go out and start the thing every week or so. take it for a drive. i just can't stay away from mine that long, lol.

I store mine--unheated garage, plastic dropcloth under it, car cover (custom fit for the Z), Stabil gas treatment and I was told by 3 dealers-- do not disconnect the battery but start it approx. ever 4 weeks and run to operating temp. Have had no problems other than waiting for spring.

why tucking it away for the winter already? im ready for it to snow and take it across the street in the parking lot and do donuts. LOL! i did that to the WRX last year, it was fun. maybe i should start installing the greddy over the winter since it wont be driven much, or at all. heated garage w/ lift, now what i need is tools!!!
