My Z is not my commuter car, sometimes it will sit for 5 days before I drive it. When I go to unlock the car after it sits for a couple of days, the keyless remote won't work (either unlocking or locking). Once I start up the car, its starts to work again. My buddies Audi does something similar. Defective or just a security thing?

 

I've left my Z for 3 weeks at a time several times this year and never had a problem with the remote unlocking the doors when I came back. Sounds like a weird problem.

 

My care hibernates all winter and have never had an issue.

 

Just a thought... maybe the key fob needs a fresh battery?

 

I got the problem once, tryed using the remote but wouldn open, I thought great I have no battery, but then realized the Z turns light off if you leave them on. So I opened the car wqith the key turned it on, and the keyles kept working after that. that was like 5 moths ago, I havent chaged the battery, and havent had the problem again either.

Just like some one said weird, may be some humidity on the keyless device...

 

thanks guys. My battery is pretty fresh, bought the Z new in July and it has happened with both remotes. No biggie since it seems to reset after I start the car. Chaulk it up as Weird.
