Question splash guards or no splash guards?

I was originally going have have the splash guards on my new 2006 that I bought a week ago. But on the 06's when u build them on the nissan site you can have only either aero package or splash guards but not both so of course I went with the aero package. I'm thinking of adding them now that I have the car but kinda been second thinking it. I really like the way my car looks without them and have seen pics of Z's with them and dont think they look quite as good with them on. Do they really benefit all that much in having them (regarding debris kickup)? I'm interested in hearing some thoughts on the subject. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I like mine but, I had to take the rear ones off since I nailed a curb reversing. Watch out for those jumping curbs...they'll get ya!

Here's a side view of mine with them on and one with the rears off

I personally like them. I would also think that they will help save your rocker panels from stones and other crap on the road.

The rear splash guards are horrid. I took mine off and will never regret the change. The car looks a lot better with the fronts on and rears off.

I bought rear guards purposely to give more fullness to the back. The back looks too small compared to the front just stock, and the rear guards do a great job at giving more definition all together. I say get them!

I think with the splash guards it makes the Z look wider than it already is.

I got them and I really like them, I think it`s a matter of personal taste as far as funtion they really do what they were designed for, I know they saved my paint a couple of times when I found myself during hiway costruction and no way to turn around and all that loose gravel and krappp...

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I talked to a guy at a nissan parts dept. and he said the reason i couldnt get them with my build was cause i had the aero package and the splash guards would just defeat the purpose by causing some drag, which makes sense. But of course i can add them myself. But yes it just comes down to personal taste in the long run. Im still undecided, gonna think about it a little.

I like the guards, forgot to order them with my car so I bought a set from ultimatez.com. They were only $94.99 or something.

I was thinking of getting splashgaurds then I saw them on my friends Z. The front splash gaurds are okay, it's just the back one that I don't like. It hides the wheels too much when looking from the back and makes the car look less agressive.

And for the person who says the back splash gaurd makes the car seem wider... Just get H&R wheel spacers to make the back wheel flush to the outside body and you will see that the car from the back looks wider, more agressive. IMO, the cheapest and easiest way to make your car look agressive is to get rims that is flush to the body of your car. Cars with sunken wheels look so wimpy. Like their tires are hiding in a cave or something.

If I were to get splash gaurds, I'd probably just get the front ones.

After three years of people complaining about the looks of the rear splash gaurds, I cannot imagine why Nissan has not redesigned them to make them better looking, like the G35c rears. That is what they should look like and paying over $300 for Top Secret ones is just too much.

No insult inteaded to fellow G35 brothers, But I wouldn't want the G's back end on my Z. I do love their taillights, though. Check out the attachment photo comparison to see what I mean. I think our rear end is one of the best looking parts of the Z. I wouldn't want to change it by putting splash gaurds on the back.
