Having 2 seats in the Z doesn't bother me at all, it's actually useful when you meet up with friends and decide to go somewhere together. You never have to drive and waste your gas because all your friends have bigger cars

IMHO, get an evo if you want speed and room. Z if you want refinement and RWD (and to go to meets with all the cool people on this forum!).
I agree, I think the Evo does look badass, from certain angles. From the rear, it looks pretty ordinary and isn't nearly as sexy as the Z. However, I love the Evo's front view and hood. The vents and the front mount intercooler makes the car look bad *** and intimadating when I see one in my rearview mirror. The Z's front, on the other, without a grill, bumper, or front lip, it's kinda blah.

i think you should get a new evo/mr

if you got a g35 and then took a loss to get a Z, cut your losses here. the Z probably wont be substantially different to give you whatever it was you were looking for to leave the G and take the initial loss. i think you'll probably be happier with a new evo.

To me the big difference is the RWD to AWD. I love RWD cars, they are so fun to drive. Sure the AWD helps you launch but it's not as much of a drivers car and I think that saps some of the fun and feeling out of driving it.

^ It wont run out of "steam" if you put a pop charger on. But back to the point.. the Evo does handle a bit better since its AWD. But its a 4dr sedan. Think about what you want before you buy. Do you want a sexy 2 seat sport car or a turbo powered decent looking 4dr sport sedan? If you caryy alot of friends then get the Evo. If you just wanna cruise around with that special someone then get the Z. Both cars are equally fast and both can be modded although the Z costs more to mod. The Evo pulls well from a dig and the Z pulls really well up top from a roll.If you care about handling get a Nismo suspension for the Z and it will outhandle the Evo. And if you are worrying about blowing up the V6... get a good engine tune with a turbo kit and you will be fine. It totally depends on what you want. Like others have said get a Turbonetics ST and you will have the sexy sports car with the turbo power you are looking for.

Do u have a Z tube? Look at my sig and my Z never runs out of steam. Screams all the way till redline. Maybe the g35 has a different ecu.

So you had this car with that stuff on it? If you get a Z you're going to have to mod it again and you'll be back to what you already had (but with less quality). It sounds like you want an EVO....but have fond memories of the G35.

if u plan on racing dont get the evo.. the stock evo clutch handles like 3 hard launches and then it goes bye bye !! my friend has had one for little less then a month .. brand new.. and already went thru 1 clutch..i guess his warranty covers it .. but still once you start to mod they will f you over on that!! hes already having second thoughts on it .. the tranny sux too i guess!!! i have an o3 performance edition z .. with intake only and ive beat him everytime weve raced.. he only has intake !! he just got exhaust though...and i havent raced him since !!

yes i had the z tube too. I had to works as far as the time i had my g35. It was 2004 6mt. only thing i was missing back then was the penlum and crank pulleys and ecu reflash that was gonna be ordered. Even with all those goodies, the car seemed not too pull as hard up top. You can actually feel the power dip as you reach 5.7-6000rpm and to redline

Yes i've had fond memories of the car. The beautiful exhuast sound, the nice heathy torque it produced, decent HP. But if i got the 350z i would do it differently this time. Going FI.

the Z looks so much better than the EVO
performance EVO wins but are you going to race every stop light?

I personally would go for the 350z (and I did). It is a far better looking car, much rarer (in UK anyway, import numbers are restricted) therfore it will depreciate much less. It looks like a sports car, an EVO looks like your grandmother's saloon has crahsed through the front window of a car accessory shop and everything has stuck to it. Final decision i imagine will come down to 2 or 4 wheel drive and/or 2 or 4 seats.

That is a load of crap. I had my evolution for over a year and ran it hard as hell with the stock clutch and I was running about 450 crank hp. Your friend must not know how to drive. If he just got exhaust you will lose especially if he is tuned correctly. This is coming from a now Z owner so it is not biased as I have owned both cars. I love the Z, it is definately more stylish, but dollar for dollar the Evo will wamp on the Z everytime. My wife even notices how much faster the Evo was than my stock Z. Of course the Z won't stay stock for too long

imo...
The Z is the perfect blend of style, performance and everyday practicality...
The EVO rides rough, looks like a teenage racer, just as impractical as the Z but u can carry adults uncomfortably or children (they will hate the ride)... then if I were going to have in a crash... it would be the Z NOT the evo... so safety is a key to the Z too...

^+1... the Z carries a 5 star rating and the Evo has a 3 star.

no all of my buddies deff do know how to drive... but like ive stated in the past threads, no 1 really believes i only have a pop charger.... the evo tore up a ton of other z's as well, he went crazy when i took him 3 times in a row .. i recently beat a z with full exhaust ( stillen ) intake.. carbon fiber hood and a cf trunk. we lined up on the freeway and i was pulling on him !! go to .. www.myspace.com/milo32 theres a comment talkin about me killin the evo and some wrx !! maybe the previous owner of my z did some internal work or something!!
