Meant to be?
Just under a year ago, in the fall of 2004, i fell in love with the 350Z. I've been driving a Honda Civic for nearly two years, and was damn ready to get rid of it. But it was late fall, and the roads were about to get covered with snow. I didn't want to invest in snow tires, and decided to wait for a couple of months until the Spring.
And surely enough, there i was at the dealership in early May, only 21 years old, putting a deposit down on a beautiful black 350Z. I was supposed to get the car by the end of the week, but then ran into a major problem. My dad, who was supposed to co-sign for me, was refinancing the house, and couldn't sign for any new loans because the bank would pull the deal.
Luckily, the loan specialist promised to have the process wrapped up the week after, and assured me that my dad would be able to sign for the car. So i asked the dealer to hold it for me. Seven, yes SEVEN WEEKS later i was still waiting. It turned that the loan guy was an amateur and had made a terrible mess of things. I lost the car.
Finally, six months later, the process was completed. Yes, it really did take him six months to set up mortgage refinancing, which means he set the world record several times over, but we won't get into that now. So i was now free to buy the car i wanted. The Mercedes-Benz C class.
Huh? Yea. See, i decided to be "sensible," save some money and buy a cheaper car. After all, the C is still a nice car, and i'd be saving $10,000 - money i could invest in buying some of the equipment my business so desperately needs. So today, after having the car thoroughly inspected at a Mercedes dealership, i signed for it.
And then, on the way home, picked up the phone, called the dealership, asked for my salesman and said "listen, i'm really sorry, but i'm gonna have to walk away." Why? Because earlier today, a recent acquaintance taught me how to get all the money i could possibly need for the equipment by using my Accounts Receivable as laverage.
I still can't believe i made that call, as i had already signed everything and paid for the inspection. However, the decision was based on one of those strong gut-level feelings i've learned to trust. For some reason, i was certain that when i get home, i'd find a 350Z of the exact model, year and mileage i wanted and most of all, it'd be RED.
Why red? Because i've always wanted one ever since deciding to get one in the fall of 2004. But not one, not even one was offered for sale between the fall of 2004 and the spring of 2005, when i bought a black one, which was my second choice. Well, surely enough, i got home and found TWO near-identical, red, low-mileage 350Z's on sale!
Unbelievable. I just called and requested the VIN number for the slightly cheaper one, which also happens to have slightly lower mileage - only 15k! The car's clean, so i scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. At 9AM, i'll walk into the dealership and finally, after a year of waiting, buy my dream car.

Thanks guys I went to check the car out, and took it for a drive. SWEET! Got them to drop $1,100 from the price and throw in the 350-dollar window tint job for free, plus two new front tires and a fix for that feathering issue. I'm getting it in two days
