Yeah, we had this talk on G35Driver.com also a while ago.

Here are some of the things people found.

The best in my opinion was this, but it's only for the door.

The 06 G has the real nice Infiniti new keyfob found on the M45.

The original Q had a heavy titanium key. Ah the glory days of Nissan.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I used to have the same titanium key for my 300ZX. At the dealer when the salesrep handed me the keys to the 350Z he went back inside. I swear I thought to myself that they were the 'spare' keys and that he was going to be back with the 'real' set. I was wrong.

Nissans' biggest downfall with the 350Z was offering all the different models. Offering the $27,000 base, Enth and Perf models has hurt the potential of the 350Z. No offense intended to those who bought them.

They built an ugly cheap a$$ interior and went real skimpy on the extras just to fit the car in a lower price bracket. The least they could have done is offered different interior components for the upper line models. Put the cheap crap in the lower 3 models. OK it is not that bad, but the interior is so plain. It is kinda sad that my 05' Sentra has a higher quality look to it. Bottom line, I would give up having a special key that is always hidden in my pants pocket, for a Z interior that people looking at my car don't constantly say, "boy they went cheap on the interior didn't they?"

Here's another Z owner that HATES on the interior. You are the vocal minority.

Where have you been livin'. In a cave?

Hey, if you like the interior that is great. But, to make it sound like I'm the minority, you need to expand your veiw a little.

I don't think the Z's interior is really all that cheap looking. It's a great sports car for a great price. If they did it up too much, you'd be looking at a $40k car and 80% of the people in here wouldn't be driving one. I would think that by this point, they would have altered the key since the Z is selling so well, but they're probably trying to keep costs at a minimum and optimize profits.

Here's my NSX key...

Yeah, the 04+ models have the silver Nissan logo on them unlike our plain 03 keys. I got bored one day and painted mine with Daytona Blue touch up paint. LOL!

I think the majority would have to say they like the interior. I like it, just enough no extra bull crap. Look at a 300. That's what they wanted to avoid. Its like a baby bouncer thing with all kinds of gadgets to twist, pull, turn, crank all kinds of crap. I think i had 1 complaint about the interior. Other than that everyone likes it. Presentation is everything, so I always have my car clean, a dirty nicely dress interior will look cheap. But like you said, there could of been a model for all the Latte drinkers and such that wanted a more plush interior in their sports car.

I'm talking more about the door panels than anything. I think they drag the rest of the interior down. I feel for $39,000 it could have been a little nicer. For a $27,000 Base or Enthu and Perf model it is more than acceptable.

(Latte drinkers?) I won't apologize for making a good living, and enjoying the finer things in life. Are all Z owners so arrogant to think that there can be no improvement in this car? Give me a break. Looks like other Z owners are not happy with what they have either. Everytime they make changes, everybody has to spend major bucks to have it and change it out. 2006 Headlights and LED taillights are the hot thing now. I mention the plain interior and your all over it. They must be Latte drinkers too!! But, that is not what this thread is about, so this is where I end it.

I hate my key. Period. It looks like it belongs to a Sentra or the Ford Focus. It's like buying a nice suit from Armani but it's made with cheap thin plastic buttons. Don't get me wrong, I forget my keys as soon as I press on the pedal. But dude, Nissan spent four years on this car, what's another two minutes to design a better key?

I tried to make a flip key out of one my old keys, the FOB, and a Volvo flip one. It turned okay I guess, but not really what I was expecting. It works at least.
