Car insurance question???
Is it a common practice for insurance companies to keep the old damaged parts? My HKS Dual exhaust was damaged in a car accident and it's going to be replaced by the insurance company.
I didnt hear it straight from the insurance company. I heard it from the bodyshop. I wanted to sell the old one and told the body shop guy that I was going to sell it for X amount of dollars. 2 weeks later he tells me this.
Is this normal guys? Or is the bodyshop guy trying con me?

Its not fishy its how things are done. That'd be the same as me wanting my totalled car to sell for parts after my accident. Once they sent me my check I had to hand over the title. Once you get your money, whats damaged is theirs.
