2003 Nissan Film footage is in the house!
I finally got hold of the film footage Nissan has shot of the Z. This is the footage sent out to advertising agencies, video production facilities, etc.
It's high quality stuff shot on 35mm. The shots are awesome... lots of helicopter shots using gyro stabilized cams, chase car boom mounted cams, etc.
The color Nissan chose to shoot....
Daytona Blue
Also some nice interior shots.
This footage is not somethign the general public gets to see in the raw. You'll normally see these shots quickly placed in :30 spots and usually with graphics placed over it.
I'm gonna capture some of these shots today and place them up on my site.
Would there be any interest in having these on VHS or DVD?

there would be no distortion... the current footage was mastered in 4:3 format.
As far as image quality goes... it'll be straight from the digital master to DVD.
If I get enough requests I'll do a run of DVD's

ok... I just captured it all. there's freakin 15 minutes of footage.
I captured it and converted it to 320x240 .mpg and it's about 90mb!!!
I guess I'll lower the quality and frame rate and see if I can post to my site...
stay tuned though!

I'd be glad to buy a DVD version of the footage. I'm sure you'd get enough buyers from this site to cover all of the costs and reward you for your time, effort and skills.

I'd love to see the high quality file, too! How about putting it out on KaZaa or some other point to point. Not as efficient as having it hosted, but will allow you to put the 90MB file out there and get around the constraints of website size or bandwidth issues.
If nothing else, send me a copy and I will put it out in my KaZaa shared file folder for others to grab from me.

ahaaa!! now thats an idea. I'll put it on my shared folder with Kazaa.
right now it's split into 2 files.
names
2003-350Z-filmstock.mpg
and
2003-350Z-filmstock2.mpg
my username is whirlybird3D
do searches under those names and it should come up... gimme a few minutes to save it to my shared folder.
On another note...
I'm working on DVD's.
I'm hoping ot be able to have some ready in a couple weeks. Currently there is no audio with the footage, but it would sure be nice to have some tunes.
When I have a run of them ready I'll put a post in the classifieds as well as an update post on this thread. Probably gonna run about $15, but you'll be getting footage that the public "shouldn't" have access to... cool....

hmmmmm.... I've got it in my shared folder... I dunno why it won't be found.
I may need to do it on my computer at home.... I'm at work now and we may have some security issues in the network which prohibit P2P outbound sharing.
