Default New to Z's just a frew question. I appreciate it

Hello all. Went to a z show and fell in love with the 350z. I have several cars with high horse power so the Z is lacking that for me, but i need one no matter what.

My questions are.

Out of the box which Z is fastest? i believe there are 4 models?

What Z has the most potential for power?

What Z is upgraded easiest?

What Z is upgraded for the least amount of money?

What Z is having the most problems?

I believe that is all.

Thanks!

I have a Touring and it's definitely faster than other Z's... Joke. Actually in hindsight I might have gotten a base or Enth so I would have a little cash left over for Mods. Besides, I hardly ever use the heated seats except as a prank on people when they ride with me during the summer. It's great putting that on your passengers seat when its 100 degrees out!

With all the horsepower being equal for all the trim levels the only thing that differentiates them in performance is weight. The Enthusiast is probably the best performer because it is the second lightest but gets the limited slip. You could also argue for the Track model because even though it is heavier it has superior brakes with the Brembos. It also has lighter wheels.

The best normally aspirated mods seem to be:

Cold Air Intake
Plenum (spacer or replace with aftermarket like Crawford)
Headers and Exhaust (although HP gains are small for dollar output)

Most bang for the buck is a turbo or supercharger but that means instant voided warrantee and potentially reduced reliability. Also you will most likely never recoup the money spent on a turbo when you want to sell the car because most people won't touch it and those that will won't pay extra for it. But if you have 5K or so to spend there is nothing that is going to match FI.

The Z's are all the same in performance wise... but the lsd and brembos help big time.. if you dont want to spend money on brakes or a lsd later. I would go with the Track model.
