Just curious how you guys broke your car in.

I am still breaking mine in. 700 miles so far and I have the rev-indicator light set at 3500. Hit 4000 rpm's a few times to get out of some bad traffic. Just hang in there till 1200. I plan on babying to 2000 but that's just me.

Broke mine in under 4k, although I varied the RPM a lot (did not drive at like 2krpm all the time)

i think it's pretty retarded to not break it in properly...if you get a Z, it's because you're an enthusiast (probably)...why would you want to risk screwing up your new Z?

nah, you'll be fine. It wont hurt it to occasionally run it over 4000.

Protect against what? Future engine problems...

If they are protecting themselves, dont you think there is a reason for the breakin period??

drove easy for the first 200 miles. Then redline.

You do know that dealerships check every car when the shipment is in by redlining all the cars right?

i always assumed the Z came with synthetics. is this not the case. with my
old bmw the bmw brand replacement oil was synthetic.

wish i knew this before my last oil change. with my other cars i always went
in with my oil in-hand for them to use. but i just assumed the nissan dealers
used synthetics on the Z. sorry, didn't mean to go off-topic.

Default 500 miles on my 06

and trying very hard to keep it under 4,000. I figure the Nissan engineers know more than I do.
Has Nissan ever commented on synthetics for the Z?
