Odd, I REFUSED to buy a 350z until the 06 model came out... strange.

Honestly, I like the 06s (I have only had mine for 3 days) more than the previous model years. I like all the changes and it made up my mind between an S2000 and a 350z. If they didnt change anything for the 06s that people actually would give a **** about, id be driving an S2000.

No doubt, I would have done the same thing if the 06 was about to come out.

Yup...And it comes with an H and a Y pipe so you will get more flow of the exhaust fluids...This is responsible for the majority of the humongous 13hp gain on the 06 models...Cant wait for Performance Nissan to get these exhausts in...Just cancelled my HKS true dual order and am waiting for these bad boyz to come in.

I'll keep my lighter 2003 model, thanks. The last thing this car needs is another 150 lbs of weight.

First, is this serious?

Second,

I've been considering the same thing. I own an 04 and really haven't had any problems that would make me want to get rid of the Z. I just had the tranny replaced and even though I had to pay for the flywheel I am still satisfied.

Sure the 03s and 04s are depreciating rapidly, but so will the 06 once the new model Z comes out. Nissan is going to do something with the Z, so why not hold out until at least you see what that will be.

If Nissan releases a Z you don't like, then go and buy the Z33 which will be even cheaper.

I say for now spend a few dollars on light mods that will make you enjoy the Z more.

Remember a new car suffers it's worst depreciation initially. So if you roll negative equity into a new car purchase you are really getting raped, twice even.

I would love to have the rev-up, but I think Nissan is going to introduce a next gen Z that will make this Z look very tame

No , there are many of us out there with 03's with no feathering , you just don't hear from them .Only prob I've had is the window grease ........

PS I wouldn't trade my pristine , 2003 preorder 350Z for a 2006 ( betting yours isn't a preorder ) .

My '03 stays until Nissan gives the car a real tangible increase in power...not just a marketing gimmick.

Not sure if this what you were thinking, but I've test driven '05 and '06 Zs lately as I'll be a Z owner soon.

Anyway, first drove an '05 and thought the interior looked good despite a few online people saying it was cheap and plain. I liked it.

Then, I drove an '06 and those aluminum accents really make a difference! Now, the '05 interiors look plain to me.

Couldn't you fix the tire feathering with a new Camber kit?

I'd wait until the release the Twin Turbo 350z.

same here. I was looking at s2k or used 350z but after standing on a nissan delership and looking at the 06, I just bought it and went against my original plan. So I say do it and purchase the new Z.

Unless you can't live w/o the dual xenon headlights, (2k to upgrade) I would keep the '03.

Save your money, the GTR comes out in 2 years and you'll definitely want that.

If I ever let go of my '03, it will be 2 years after the new GTR comes out.
Two years to wait out the first production bugs to be fixed, then another year for aftermarket companies to develop parts to mod. So that's 4 years from now. And of course, if the car doesn't drive as good as I expected, or if I have enough dough saved up, I'd go for the coming M3.

Another vote for keeping the 03. Is it really worth the depreciation to upgrade to the 06 for a few minor improvements? Like others have said, wait till a significant redesign to make the change. The new Z owners are obviously going to say the 06 model is better than yours, but at the same time you've been driving a Z for the past ~3 years while they've been dreaming of having one during that time.
