PS I wouldn't trade my pristine , 2003 preorder 350Z for a 2006 ( betting yours isn't a preorder ) .
Same here. Just the dang window grease. I drove an '06 this weekend. Only thing it had going for it was that it was the roadster. Still not enough to get me to part with it. Dealer kept pushing for me to trade. They were extremely surprised I have less than 15K on it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'll keep the '03, especially now that I got it painted because of Hurrican Wilma.

Question... does the front bumper of the '06 fit the '03?

I really like the silver looking grill it has. I saw it up close and it's actually painted. I like the grill on it better than the ones they sell on Ebay or other places.

I had feathering issues, but I haven't had it since I put in some coilovers and got it aligned.

I'm faced with the same decision. Got my '03 in October '02 and my lease is up soon. I've been keeping my eye open for replacement cars for a year now and have come up blank. Boxter, too snobby. Porsche Cayman, have to see one in person in January. NSX, cool but dated styling. Used BMW Z8, cool but still too much $. etc etc etc. So I'm going to buy my '03 at the end of the lease and wait for the re-styled Z to come out or for something else just as fun and fast as an '03 Z. I may own this car for a long time.

Default 05 vs. 06 Nissan dealer tested and agree.

Okay I'm sure a lot of people will completed go ape **** when I make the following statement. Keep your 03-05 350z. It might be faster.

Today I was invited to back to Passport Nissan of Maryland as one of their past customers to have my car appraised and see about possibly trading up for an 06 model. I showed up at the dealership at about 3pm today, the first thing I did was look at the pretty silverstore base sitting out front. One of the salesman came out and stated telling me how just how "bad a$$" the 06 was vs. my 05 and how now they all have "300hp and 18" performance rims". I was really kinda thinking about whether is was even possible for me to afford trading up. My salesman (a personal friend of mine) came out with the keys to the 06 for us to do a test drive.
Now before I get started about the test drive let me tell you have there is a really nice stretch of road near the dealership that they use for testing. It's about 1.5 miles round with some nice high speed straits and high-speed curves with a hair-pin at the end. This dealership couldn't have picked a better location for test drives.
When he took off I really though he was trying to take it easy at first but then I realized that he was really he was really reving the engine a lot for that to be the case. It just really felt kinda sluggish from the passengers seat. We got to the end of the road and swapped position so now I'm driving. Thats when all my fears became very apparent. This car is very slow compared to my 05. Maybe just very sluggished I should say. No torque. Another thing I wasn't expecting was the weight of this car. It really felt heavier compaired to mine going through the corners. I was really expecting more.
We went back to the dealership and I got my car and to perform a test drive on the same road. Now please let me state that I have an 05 Enth. with NISMO cat-back and JWT Popcharger and thats it. Right off the bat the salesman conceeded that mine was indeed quicker and handled better through the turns after I let him drive. I think at that point there wasn't much sense in trying to sell me into an 06.

I respect that... BUT.... I just got my car about a month or so before the 06 model was released. I still would have figured that a bone stock 06 would still be way stronger than mine. My 05 came with 287hp stock vs. all 06 come with 300hp. I wouldn't have thought that just adding a filter and catback could add that much more over an 06. Believe me.. I know what your saying but I just dont see how my little bit of add-ons could have made that much of a difference. Plus I'm told by the guys at nissan that the ecu fuel mapping and redline have been raised in the 06.

Having test driven both STOCK 05s and 06s extensively lately I can say conclusively say that is not true. Performance wise they were both equal. Of course, you weren't comparing stock to stock . . .

Sorry, not bashing you honestly. Well, we were driving different cars so I suppose there could've been a difference in your case. Who knows. The key is that you enjoy the car you have so that is a good thing. Each person should take their own test drives and decide what they prefer.

And, to answer your other question, no I don't have an '06 . . . yet. After testing driving both the 05 and 06 I decided to go with an '06. But, mine is on order. Expected to arrive late January. It'll be a long wait.

Thanks I know when you get your 06 you'll love it. I guess I'll be keeping mine for the time being and just spending the money to make it look as good as yours. lol

I'd keep my 03, 04 or 05.

There aren't enough changes and incentives in an 06 Z that would negate that 150 lbs or so of increased weight.

That's like having a whole EXTRA person in your car at all times.
I believe it's a whole lot cheaper to get a 287 hp car to 300 at the crank, than it is to attempt to shave 150lbs or more, off of a daily driven Z.

But,i f this is your first Z and you're getting an 06...power to you, welcome to the club.

I agree with Zephyr.

What made it weigh more? The led tail lights? =p

Probably that engine crap.

You rather wait - save and keep the money until the next Z generation comes out.
Dude Wait for the skyline sounds like thats what you want anyways(AWD)
