Default What to look for?

Picking up my Daytona Blue Touring tomorrow, and was wondering what to look for when picking it up. What all came with your car.....certain places to look for defects.....anythig like that. Is there something on your car that you didn't think about looking for when you picked it up, but when you got it home, you realized that something wasnt quite right? When I looked at it on monday, there was a spot on the left front fender right above the emblem. The salesman said it was just glue from the plastic, and that it would come off after I waxed it acouple times. Should I have the dealership get it off, or should I not worry about it and use the magic of Zaino when I get it home? One last question....the dealer has put their logo on the back right above the 350Z logo. Is it rude to have them take it off, or should I wait until I get home to get it off. Thanks for all of your help.

Who cares if it is rude, you are spending $3XXXX on a car, have them remove the sticker!

On my blue, I had a couple of areas of concern. There was a dime sized miscolored spot on the hood. It was a lighter than the rest of the paint, and very noticable. There was also a section down the door that was about 6 inches with other smaller discolored spots.

According to the salesman, these had to do with the coverings they shipped the cars in not allowing the paint to dry. They were obviously under the clear coat, because you could look at them at an angle, and feel them with your fingers, and not notice anything on the surface. He said to heat them with a heat gun and they'd go away. He also said the car was in the showroom for about 3 weeks, and the one on the hood must have come up once it was taken outside into the cool air. It must have, because it was very noticable. I made him note the defects on the deal sheet, just in case I needed to gripe later if they didn't go away.

I haven't had a chance to check the one on the side due to the weather, but the engine heat from driving the car 4.5 hours home apparently got rid the hood spot completely. I'd have the dealer try a heat gun on the spot you are talking about if it appears to be under the surface, and not really glue. If it was glue, I'd also make them get it off.

Anyway, I made my own list of things to look for based on the list above and previous gripes. Here is it:

1) Excessive Orange Peel in paint
2) Check rear hatch clearance on left vs right side
3) Color of plastic (bumper and gas lid) vs rest of car
4) Mileage
5) Interior for scratches
6) Roll windows up and down look for grease streaks
7) Ease of shifting
8) Condensation in headlights
9) Carefully go over exterior for scratches and chips
10) The aluminum pedals are protected during shipping with a clear plastic film. Make sure the film is removed from the pedals
11) Make sure the antenna rod is firmly attached to the antenna base
12) Paint marks on wheels/tires
