behind the driver cubby?
I noticed in a few amp install photos that some z's have the cubby/glovebox behind the driver.
I am assuming, the bose setups have the sub behind the passenger, and therefore the cubby is put behind the driver?
If thats the case, what is behind the door outline of mine? I didnt look too hard, but is that removeable? Is there open room in there to put in some goodies?
Any info would rock before I go pulling stuff out

You can also buy optional glovebox pieces from Nissan. It costs about $350 to install that second glovebox. I will do that someday. I just want suspension more right now.
Edit: I just went out to the garage and found out there is at least a 18"x24"x14" area behind the drivers seat for storage. I just put a 18"x24" carpet remanent in there. I then used some two part putty type epoxy to make two flats on the back top of the cover. Then I put velcro hook on the top edge of the cover where I built up these flats. After that I put velcro loop on the top edge of the opening. Instant secret storage area for the price of carpet, velcro, and epoxy I had laying around. Basically free. Or, less than $12 if you had to buy all the stuff to make it happen.
It will make a perfect place to hide my digital camcorder, mp3, digital camera, or other stuff I need to keep out of wondering eyes. I love this mod !!!

Prob one of the best "home" installs on here. I like it cuz it was done by the owner.

Tomorrow, I think I will take the subwoofer mount out to get even better access. Then I am going to buy some car black carpet material and line the compartment with that instead of just the mat in the bottom. That will finish off the compartment nicely. I can hardly wait.

No offense to Performance Nissan (since I'd bet Nissan has set the price pretty high) but $330 is too much. I'd been contemplating this for a long time [and more/less knew the cost). If I'm gonna do it, I'll probably head to a junkyard sometime to see if I can get all the pieces for cheap.

I do not think I'm going to buy the second glovebox kit now that mine is finished. It gives me a larger storage area without the glovebox kit and it's hidden.

OK I finish up taking out the subwoofer bracket and carpeting the inside of this cubby area behind the drivers seat. The are is huge. I used a 30 x 36" peice of carpet to lay in the bottom of the cubby area. Much larger than the glovebox area behind the passenger seat.
There was still a lot of room to put a digital Camera and a small tool kit in there after the gym bag went in.
Man, this was a cheap and nice mod.
