Default 2+2 350z??

I was at this Japanese grocery store earlier tonight which has a bookstore section, and I was flipping through this book/magazine on the "Fairlady Z." It featured every model of Z in chronological order, ending with the 350z.

An interesting section at then end had some "new" 350Z drawings, the most notable of which was a "2+2" with "T-Bar top." Those were the only words in English, so I have no idea what else it said. It was a rear 3/4 view of a Le Mans Sunset, and the top looked like it was ALL black glass with a metal bar going vertically down the middle (kind of like the current Maxima top). The whole car was slightly elongated, as you can imagine, and you could kind of make out the rear seats through the rear window.

Anyhow, I'm not sure if this has been posted or discussed before, but I was wondering what everyone would think if something like this would come out.

personally i think the Z needs to stay a 2 seater. the G is for a 2+2. as for the T tops, i would definatly like to see a next gen Z have a removable top. i would like a single targa top rather than a removable passenger/driver side old school T top.

I agree however, I would rather have the T-tops if done right. Like this:

Maybe so, but there were sometimes that my wife wanted the window up, t-top on and heater set to 75 degrees. So, I could take off my t-top and roll down my window on a brisk fall or spring day when it was too cold for her or when she didn't want her hair messed up. Women ......

It maybe looked a little weird but, fun. Especially all the thumbs up I got from the dudes. Lol !!!!

Women and T-Tops are like Oil And Water = They don't mix.

My GF ALWAYS b*tched about the sun beating down on her head, her hair....ridiculous sh*t like dat.

Not a problem NOW with the Z, however...LOL

Same here, but "I" do miss the t=tops.

Wife has curly hair so it takes her two days to untangle it after a trip out on the boat unless she french braids it.

if you live in cali, you just leave it off probably...it's not gonna rain...and it'll be safe if you get a good alarm system with a pager feature...you might be broke from the targa top conversion, but hey, i'd do it...how much would that be btw?

I hope they never go 2+2....2+2 ruined the lines of the 280!! and will ruin the lines of the 350 as well

as for the Targa or T-top.....bring it on...would LOVE to see it...storage of the tops would be an issue I could deal with

This may not be the right place to post this, and take it with a grain of salt my best friends mother, has a close friend who works for Nissan and just got back from Japan. Apparently herself, and whoever she was working with in Japan just got the 2007 sketches of the 350z approved by Nissan. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything else.

I would give anything for the body lines of the current 350z with a targa top. Like the old days with the targa supras. Pure Bliss.

Don't get me wrong, the roadsters are very beautiful but there's that hatch shape missing from the coupe lines.

Many people do not like the styling of the 350z roadster, especially with the top up. Targa top > T tops or roadster, IMO...

Actually that is how they store them in the 300ZX. They have two bags that you stack and there is a 3 point strap that keeps them from sliding around in there. I have a spare set so I tried it. No problem at all. It fits. with room for other stuff.

Oops misread..... He's talking targa tops.... Nope not enough room unless special bracket was made for it like Corvette. Then even, I do not think the rear hatch area is wide enough. I would have to do some measurements.

Maybe, a two piece targa top? That would be the s#!t.

OBTW - I rougheed it out a couple of years ago:

Nice, but I thought a redesign wasn't scheduled until 2009?

A 350Z targa top would be SUPER SWEET. All the targa tops are really nice.. Supra's, NSX's, the Lotus Elise.. sweet cars which let you enjoy the sun when you want. And the roadster adds weight and the handling suffers a bit.

Personally...I'd just like a sun roof. T-Tops are nice....but at the same time.....you have to store them when you take them out.
