Default notchy trannys?

just a quick ? for everyone, my z is an 04 w/6spd and when I drive it hard/fast first to second can sometimes be a little resistant. I don't get any noise or anything, and under normal conditions its fine. but i've had quite a few mannuals, and whenever this started to happen my tranny soon went bye-bye, any feedback would be great. If its normal I learn to live w/it let me know

Mine does it and it's an 06 lol. I just flick the rev's up a tad when I switch to second...that makes it nice'n smooth.

My 03', which is on it's second tranny, does this as well even if I don't shift quick. It usually only does this the first or second time I shift from 1st to 2nd. Afterwards, it's pretty smooth.

Mine does that too until it gets warmed up.

Mine makes an awsome clunking noise when it shifts. Sounds real ricer.

Its buttery smooth though. Only once in 5000 miles have i not gotten into 2nd. And at the time i wasn't getting tracking + wheel hop that chances are torsion and flexion had more to do with it then a crappy trans.

Reliability data above from 350Z owners. Compiled by Consumer Reports.

The transmission is a common problem area for 2003 owners. Although less so for 2004, it is NOT one of the 350Zs most reliable areas.
