Default snow + stock tires = fun

Got our first snow of the year near cleveland today and i wont have my beater until next week! Needless to say my drive to work this morning on kinda snowy/icy roads was a controlled slide at best lol. Any of you crazy people out there go through the entire winter on the stock tires?

I'm still waiting for our first snowfall. I usually wait for the snow, I rip around the block a few times on the stock tires, and then I put the snow tires on.

Going through the winter on the stock tires (where the temps get low) is just plain crazy. You will, without a doubt, get into an accident at one point in time.

This morning it was 5 degrees C (approx 40F) and I could already feel the stock tires hardening up.

Snow+BALD Stock Tires=death
That's what I had last winter, it was fun. Going 1 mile an hour sideways down the street while everyone else laughs at you, .

LOL. In dry weather the 350Z is one of the fastest cars on the road. In a quarter inch of snow, I get passed by pedestrians who are walking.

Yeah snow isn't the problem so much as ice and hard packed snow. I was travelling home the other night which should normally take 2 hours @ 75 mph. it started out good. Then i started to see tracks all over the highway. at least 40-50 wrecks musta pulled out earlier that day. So i continue get to a windy section. start going sideways toward the wall correct then go sideways the other way correct one more time and straight as a arrow. I must say the handling is phenominal. The negative part is i was only going between 25-40 miles per hour the entire way. 6 hours to get home. I just got my front tire replacement. I think its time for some snow tires. what a night.

Yep, especially fun with LM-22's. You'll be laughing at SUV's as you pass by them. Get em here:

im not even driving my car when it snows. I'm going to put my car cover and leave it in the garage. Im babying my car and i dont want the snow salt ruining my rims and the car paint. Im jus goin to use my pops ml truck for winter. When the road is clear and no salt or snow visible, i may take the Z for cruise around town and have a big smile on my face -=D

I’m driving my Z everyday because my Z is the only car. I do not have winter tires! I’ve been driving a few times on snow and it worked out – but slow. I’ve got some Radial Chains for my rear wheels in my trunk - just case.

The worse situation is that it snows AFTER I get to work. Then I have to leave the car there.
