well yes but for a young kid that maybe this is his 1st sports car 65 is all he needs.....

someone that hasnt being driving for long wont know how to handle a car at high speeds, or a car like the z

im sorry but if i had kids a z would not be a car i would buy them, thats just asking for a funeral....lol

i actualy know of a girl that has one of these on her car... its no z or anything but he doesn't trust his daughter. you can't miss this thing tho it is an external antenna mounted to the truck that tells the location and speed of the car, i dont know if tis will notify him but it does log the data

good luck but after reading the other things you have posted i dont think your dad would be out of line.... especially if hes paying for it, **** if someone GAVE me a z i wouldn't complain about any terms of the deal

If you're young enough for your dad to do such a thing then you shouldnt even have a 350Z in the first place. If anything maybe an 84-88 300ZX paid for with your own money then you could do anything you wanted with it (if you also paid your insurance)

Wah wah wah my dad doesnt want me to mess up HIS car or make HIS insurance rates go up WAH WAH WAH Im a little kid WAH WAH WAH

=)

I started paying for all my stuff at a young age and because of that I was able to do anything I wanted to do with my toys. If I crashed my car (with out hurting myself) he could care less becuase it was MY car.

Tell your dad you will take over the car payment and insurance payment then if he still trys to keep that GPS thing in your car then and only then do you have a reason to go WAH.

+1

unless you are tooling around the city 65 seems kinda slow. i would say more like
75 or so. sometimes on the highway here you are in the slow lane if doing 65.

plus it's not just the speed that is the danger. it's the acceleration. it's better to
be doing 75 solid on the highway than blipping and throttling like hell through the
city and slowing just before 65. just my 2 cents.

Can someone clarify why <wired24/7> has a message saying 'ban'. I've never seen this before. Was that what he wrote or is that a message the mods put in to ban the original message?

Its hard to comment on the original statement by <forbidden donut> without knowing more. Is this a 16 yo whose first car is a 350Z from his parents? or is this someone who has been in many accidents and had many speeding tickets? His screen name 'Forbidden donut' might say it all.

As a dad myself, it seems to be such a mixed message..."I'll buy you a $35,000 car, pay for the insurance, buy you gas, etc but I don't think that you're mature enough to drive it." The kid doesn't really learn anything other than, 'I can't speed because my dad will get mad'; we'd like to help our kids develop their own values and grow into responsible adults.

^ Says it all.

It sounds like you can still do donuts and burnouts though. Spite the man!

I know that they do exist, all of our government vehicles have them. If the vehicle goes over 65, it will send a message to a compter with speed, time, and location of the vehicle. I would just be glad that you have a dad that would buy his son a 350Z. I don't think you have too much room to complain about anything.

check under the steering wheel, they do have sensors that clip into your OBD reader, and record your speed and stuff

Do you have an aftermarket alarm. When I was looking at alarms one of the features was I can do gps tracking online to see where my car goes and how fast it was driven if I were to lend it to a friend (I wouldnt) or if it were in the shop for some reason.

The Z looks fast sitting in my garage.....

It's really not how fast your going but how quick you get there... cruising at 80 is no different than cruising at 65.....

flooring the pedal and getting to 65 in a few seconds after merging on the freeway..... priceless..

The idea may be appropriate, but 65 is too low. Here in California, if you drive 65 on the freeway and hold up traffic, people will pull out guns and start shooting at you. Road rage is horrible here.

do you have any clue how annoying a feature this would become. we all go at least slightly over 65MPH you aren't gonna get ticketed below 72MPH anyway. your dad will have turned the damn thing off by the first week.

(Conor) Would travel 64 to 67 as much as possible til dad threw it out.
