Pictures will make anything look perfect, but this car really isn't that far from it. I spent a lot of time detailing it as well. I went to lambo of Dallas because I had two friends from out of town that were wanting to go there. They had an asortment of lambos as usual plus 3 Saleen S7's (1 of them twin turbo) and also an Enzo.

I am very happy with the car.

An update...first Vette mod: iForged wheels and Toyo T1R's.

Up next? Possibly the APS TT system for the C6.

Holy hotness those forges look killer on the car.

A vette with the right wheels is undeniably sweet.

I'm scared to ask what tires you managed to squeeze in the back?? 295? 305? hell 335??

Actually, I was able to keep the stock sizes....245/40/18, and 285/35/19, but with more aggressive offsets.

The Toyos ride better, handle better, and are much quieter than the GY runflats. The ride is so much better, I almost wish I had gone +1 on the wheels/tires.

It actually looks great.
The first pic looks like it's real beafy in back. I'm surprised that's a 285.

No offense, but the third thumbnail pic looks like a Ferrari 360 spyder.

Really classy! What's next on your mod list?

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm going to upgrade the crappy Bose sound system with the new Alpine IVA-W200 double din DVD head unit and some custom subs in the rear.

I'll probably drop it about 1/2" inch.

Carravaggio is coming out with bolt on replacement flared front and rear fenders similar to the Z06. They would look great on a convertible, but that would require wider wheels and tires than the new ones I just put on!

As far as performance, the only thing I'd consider right now is the upcoming c6 APS TT system, but I've read good things about the ATI and Magnussen SC's. I'm not going to rush to get everything done until I do a lot more research. Besides, this is a car I just may keep for a while.

The APS TT makes the Z a faster car...no question. But that's only for now. Work on the Vette will begin soon......

I'm very impressed with how much better a car this Vette is than my previous one, a 2002 Z06. The build quality and refinement, although not at Audi levels, is far better than almost any car I've ever owned. We'll see how it holds up over time.
Don't get me wrong the vette is an awesome performance car for the money, Im just not crazy about its wedge shape look... For myself the only american car that temps me alot is the Viper...

Nothing wrong with that! The upcoming Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro means more American muscle fun is on the way as well. It's a good era for performance cars....maybe the best ever.

Wedge? What wedge??

I agree with you 100%, the new camaro looks awesome if they can keep the same body style as the prototype. I remember several years ago the camaro prototype looked simlar to the NSX and I was excited about it, then the production model came out and it was really watered down hope they do not repeat themselves with that mistake again.

Right now I'm actually really tempted to buy a used Prowler, I know there not that fast but I just love the roadster style on that car...

Saw a Prowler today...still an amazing, powerful design. I love 'em.

If the Camaro keeps it looks, there'll be 2 Chevy's in my garage.

ZZtop,
Sorry to see your Z go, congrats on your C6...it's looking good.
I hope you stick around the forum.
It seems like you were very close to getting the V8 Vantage?
That thing will turn heads everywhere, and the noise? That thing
sounds like a FREAKING MACHINE GUN! You can hear it two miles away
Nevertheless, the Vette is also a GREAT looking car and is a lot
better bang for the buch than the Aston.

I was on the list for a V8 Vantage for the longest time and the a dealer was having a slow month (I assume), so he decided he needed an extra 5K to keep my spot in line and he would no longer be able to guarantee MSRP because "the allocations have changed."

Well, you can imagine what I told him, and my attorney had to call to get my original 5k deposit back. I couldn't get a Z06 for anthing near MSRP, so I settled on a C6 convertible for now, and I'm glad I did.

In about three years, I'll probably be able to pick up a used Aston for half the price since they depreciate worse than a Cadillac.

Looks amazing! I may have gone +1 as you mentioned. Always have to take into consideration that the stock wheels did not really have a lip on them...so if you go with the same diameter wheels (but with a lip) then they may actually look a little smaller (but meaner) than stock.

The TT Z is holding up great. I just put new rear tires on it yesterday...Toyou T1-R's.

Good to hear. I love the T1R's, and the Vette is turning out to be one damn fine car.

I truly love the C6's. My brother has had two C5 hardtops, and I think the C6 just blows it away.

I was at my Credit Union the other day, and I parked next to a red C6 Z06 2LZ. Keep in mind this is the 2nd time, I've parked your Z next to a C6 Z06. When the owner came out, we chatted. He traded in his Ferrari 360 Modena for this car. Anyways, he said the Z06 would just "eat up" the Ferrari, but I think we both already knew that.
