Mine has been in storage since the Nov 4th weekend. Already called insurance company to lower my rates. My Z is clean inside and out, and she's covered inside the garage. I'll actually probably back her out into the driveway and clean out that spot for an old carpet.
BTW, I live in the Twin Cities.
Oh, and I won't drive it on the salty roads until a few hard rains in late spring.

UHP All-season tires...$600 (incl. shipping)
Mounting...$60
Driving the Z year-round (potentially even on snow)...Priceless.
Seriously though, the tires that come on the car are decent on dry, marginal on wet, and a bad idea any other time -- just as summer tires should be. I've had these tires on for a wet autocross, and the grip level is simply incredible. Yes, there were times when I was "tiptoeing" around the course, but that was where there was lots of standing/flowing water. Otherwise I was having zero problems with grip.
(Oh, and road salt cleans off -- as long as you get to it before it completely becomes rock again)

Yes, you guessed right. If you are storing your car for a few months, it is good to put the pink insulation styrofoam. The styrofoam is a bit forgiving and will curve a bit to your tires instad of the flat cold ground.
If I was storing my car for a year or more, I would consider jackstands, but this is just 4-4.5 months.

I've read about it books, journals, and on various internet sites. Supposedly, during this "winter", the temperature gets something called "cold".
I'll let you know as soon as I find it. But in the meantime, I think I'll turn up the AC a little...

but......salt comes with sand, and those big chunks of salt and sand will destroy the front of your car. Obviously if the Z is your only car, you have no choice. In fact, with good snow tires, you will proabably do very well given the car's good weight distribution.

Painful as it is, I wont drive it again after I make the call to my insurance company.......that is always the point of no return for me.....
Now it is off to finish off this Thanksgiving turkey(crab, scallops, and shrimp for stuffing.. ).........Happy Thanksgiving to all my Z brethren(and honey's).....and whatever you do, drive carefully, and be safe.
Peace.....
