Default Gas tank door froze!!!!

I park in a garage, but it's not heated. It dropped to 25 degrees out here, and I just had a car wash. I fiercely dried my car so my car doesn't get FROST exterior as well.

But, guess what? I tried to open the gas tank door, and it doesn't f'ing open! Water froze in there, and now i'm stuck with 1/5 tank of gas and a 5-hour-trip to Michigan ahead.

Any ideas how to open this damn thing?

Pour a little warm water on top of it. That should melt the ice, and then open it and wipe it dry immediatley. I'm thinking that should do the trick.

Next the windows will freeze closed.
You won’t be able to unlock the car.
And when you do get it unlocked you won't be able to open the door.

Its all part of the joy of a 350Z daily driver.

That picture just looks so wrong. Some people will say they don't have any options, but even a beater pickup in the winter (the money you save on insurance will pay for the vehicle) is better than letting such a nice car live in the crap weather. My last car never saw the snow and I just handed it down after 16 years and it still looks great.

My 05 SB 35th. will never see the snow....just my 2 cents....

dont get me wrong you do what you want but i dont get why its such a big deal for a z to touch the snow...

if it was a lambo or some other 150k car then yeah , but a z... if you wash it maybe one a month or so nothing wrong is going to happen.

no i would never drive in snow because i dont trust people around me, i know i can control the car , but i know others are dumn and i dont want them messing up my car.

but as far as the car touching the snow...lol snow its just frozen water..wow watch out..

and the salt is no big deal like i said just watch the car everynow and then and everything is cool.

just me 2 cents....

Thanks for everyone’s comments and concerns. The photos were taken last winter during a record storm. I now have a great cover. When the Z is parked, the cover is always on the car, and the Z is protected, snug and dry underneath.
