I doubt the cops were going to look for the deer at 6am. I dont know if they contacted the game warden. I sure as hell wasnt thinking about it at that time.
That deer didnt stand there waiting for me to hit him. We waited for me to cross the road in front of me. Dumb ***.
A friend of mine owns a bodyshop and he told me he has had so many cars to fix because of deers. The adjustor from my insurance company said the same thing, all they did today was look at cars damaged because of deers.

That sucks that it got up and ran away. If a deer ever runs out in front of my car and ****s it up, I'd at least want its head hanging over my mantle as a souvenir.

Hell yeah, get out and chase that damn thing down! It won't be running fast or far after a Z smacks it like that...
Find the damn thing in the woods and call all my buddies up to run a train on it while it gasps it's last breaths...

Well the GOOD news is that you should ask the place that fixes you Z to order the 06 headlights. You could just pay the difference for the other one. A buddy of mine owns a collision shop and he had a 03 Z with the same type of damage in. Fender, bumper cover, hood, light. BUT the one he was fixing also hit the right door. He had the whole front end ripped off!!!!

I can't believe you didn't get the deer's insurance information. However you do have a good "deer print" on your hood, so the cops may be able to get a match from their deer database.

The airbags didnt go off.
As far as replacing the headlights with the 06, i believe the insurance is only going to replace one since the other one was not damaged. I didnt get the paperwork yet to see what all exactly they are doing. I believe the fenders are fixable they said. But the hood and bumber and engine cover and headlight definitely need to be replaced.

don't go with '06 haedlights, they are butt-ugly. What are those things plastic zits? Just saw them at the SF Auto Show. A few people around me, many Z owners all groaned when they saw what they had done to the lovely looking Z. I guess the Nissan people felt like they had to do something, but they made some very poor choices for '06, IMHO.
