Default Rear differential as a jacking point

if i wanted to get the Z on 4 jackstands, would it be ok to lift the car up with a jack by the rear differential? not sure if it will damage the rather-soft alumnium cover.

I've done it several times without problems.

Sure it's OK. It's one of the "official" lift points.

For added fun....Get in you car while it is up in the air. Get the rear wheels spinning and drop the car on the ground...

Sweet burnouts!!

Seriously, the pumpkin is a fine lift point.
