I didn't know they ran the Z33 in the GT300 class. I know they have it in the GT500 class and that car is a BEAST. The GT300 one must be NA then cuz I don't think they need to boost it when its already 300HP.

As far as the "ugly" comments.... this video is SUPER old when they were just doing runs on a test mule.
Here are a couple GT300 Z33's in all their glory.
A serious whoopin upon it's debut.

But if you see all that in a video on the track, then it's all of a sudden glorified.

Maybe they just didn't want the car turned on in that room since the exhuast fume would be very strong and the noise of the car in that room would be killer for your ears.

They prolly skipped the starter and/or battery, as well.

I'm no pro car racer as well, it just happened that I was watching the corvette/porche race on the speed channel the other day and I saw the corvette miss a turn and was facing the tire wall, he then proceeded to reverse to face away from the wall and went off. So I just figured the same for the Z.

I think zedated is right....
They have no reverse gear. Their ratios are so aggressive it's only linked one way.
I remember seeing a clip where a JGTC NSX spun out facing the opposite way but inches away from a wall. The crew had to push the car a couple feet back from the wall for the driver to do a complete U-turn to face the right way of the track.
I guess weight is an issue, with JGTC cars being marginally close to each other in weight and HP ratio.
It's the only motorsport where you'll see a Z33 whooping the likes of Ferrari Modenas and Lamborghini Murcielagos.
Heres some of the exotics:

i think the car is glorified because it is a GT car in which are suppose to have all the above features that would make a street car rice. That is part of being a ricer isn't it? Thinking one's street car is a race car when it isn't?
