out of box, and I hate to say this, as I am a Z owner, the Z is the weak sauce; extra mild. Don't get me wrong, I love the car, but owning and knowing the car, you can't pull the wool over my eyes. Out of box, the Z is a dissapointment in my opinion, but has great potential. The Z's selling point, and IMO, it's weakness, is the fact that it's the jack of all trades and the master of none.

you could have got a car much more suited to your wants espically with the cost of the car / turbo and mods you could have had that much power and warranty coverage..
what made you want the Z?

Yup. I was in a tunnel, driving my beater Integra when an Elise zipped past me super-quick. Funny thing? I didn't hear a thing. It was like a silent pass.
Same thing happened to me in that same tunnel when an F430 burned past everyone. My teeth were rattling and my chest was vibrating when it stormed right by me.
But the velocity/acceleration between the two were probably comparable?

Anyway here I was cruising at 85mph and finally i look down at the speedo and it reads 110mph. WHOA!! I don't know how long we were doing that speed but I had absolutely no clue the car was doing it.

After driving something like that nothing is going to feel fast, but i still love my Z.......
Now try taking a full 90 degree sweeper in both and see which one you'd call fast

After going 0 to 150 in under 2 seconds off a full head of steam from the catapult on the flight deck of a CVN, my Z seemed pretty slow, too...
Just kidding. Yes, and I do still love my Z, too.
I know... (btw i didnt read any of the posts aside from the first)
My mom's C-Class Benz feels like it accelerates faster than my Z because of the suspension and the transmission (which gives a huge kick when downshifting as you step on the pedal)... my Z however, when accelerating doesnt feel as fast... but im sure its a HELL of a lot faster than that slow thing.
Same w/ my old beater (Ford Focus)... felt fast, was in actuality VERY slow.

Warranty to me means next to nothing. I don't know if it's the dealers around me, but unless you have a contact, they won't fix anything. I had a good experience with a chrysler dealership, though I had a contact there. Mazda, Dodge, and even Nissan to some extent. I just don't trust any of them so the warranty is a non issue.
I won't buy ford or gm cars ( I will buy a ford truck though) so they are out of the equation. I love the look and over all feel of the car. It is VERY rare around where I live and to see a modded one is even more rare. That gives the car a bit more appeal. There is a lot of aftermarket support for it and I got it for a price I wanted to pay and the insurance is relatively cheap. that's why I bought it.
