The next Z redesign?
Greetings everyone.
I am considering buying a car for myself and the 350Z is at the top of my list of choices. (others are IS350 and Toyota Avalon)
now, my major concern is about a redesign coming in the next couple of years. I don't want to ride a car that after a short while get a new design even if it was uglier.
are there any news about the next redesign date of the Z?
this is my first post and if I got the Z (hopefully, I will) I will be posting alot of questions about modding the car

I don't like the G35 design
any other cars that I might consider? I am still in the listing phase..
the RX-8 and S2000 aren't options since our Mazda and Honda dealers don't import these cars.. so maintenance would be difficult.

I thought that a new look is set for 2009? Funny the guy is looking at the RX. I looked at that car too. I've been talking about the RX alot today.
I've got to tell you man, I am glad that I went with the Z. I just wish that it had all wheel drive *laugh*

BTW I’ll be driving and enjoying my 350Z while you're waiting for the next one.
I will not wait until a new design of the Z is out unless it's out after 8 months!
I am buying a car after 8 months from now! I am just trying to make my mind which one to buy..
as for the Z history, looking at this page doesn't give a clear indication! the 240/260/280Z lasted for 9 years, the 280ZX remained 5 years, 3rd generation 300ZX lasted 5 years and finally the 4th generation 300ZX for 7 years.
so I really can't tell! in 2007, the 350Z will be 6 years old which doesn't sound comforting to me since the average age of a generation is 6.5 years!
now a 2009 redesign is ok for me.. but if it happens in 2008, I am gonna pull all my hair out!
edit:
The next redesign is scheduled for 2009. You might do a search under "redesign"; I think there has been a thread or two on the subject.
Man, quite a range from a Zzzz to an Avalon! (Though both are excellent cars).
Avalon, because the car looks plain awesome and maintenance service of Toyota in here is excellent while Nissan is crap!
so I am considering the options from various angles.

cars are constantly getting redesigned. I see no point in waiting for a redesign, because guess what...in 3 more years, there will be a new one. Unless there is a redesign already scheduled for several months from the current time, I would buy the car. There will always be something better, faster, newer, etc. If you like the car how it currently is, buy it. AFAIK, there isnt going to be a redesign until atleast 2008. Which is 2 years away.

true, but as I said, I am not waiting for a redesign rather I am afraid of it
but I guess you have a point, I should buy what I like and don't not make what I don't like be an obstacle

I do not think anyone on these forums can tell you exactly when the 350Z will be redesigned. Actually, those that have that information cant tell you because they cant release that info until Nissan feels it is best for them to do so.
My guess is you will not see a redesigned Z prior to the release of the GT-R thus it should be years away. I think it is likely you will see more slight changes such as the 2006 model but nothing significant.
Again, this is an educated guess, nothing more.

1969 - The 240Z goes on sale in the U.S. on October 22, 1969. It features a 2400cc , 2.4 liter in-line OHC six-cylinder with two side draft SU carburetors, the engine produced 150 horsepower engine, and delivers a 0-60 time of under nine seconds. The only transmission offered was a 4 speed manual. The brakes consisted of solid front discs and rear drums -- all for a price tag of only $3,526.
$3,526! OMG...
