350Z Event @ National Corvette Museum
To all Z enthusiasts:
How many of you would be interested in having an annual 350Z celebration at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY? The NCM hosts many car club events (Porsche, Camaro & Firebird) and I believe that the Z enthusiasts would really have a great time. I am a lifetime member of the museum and I have been in contact with Adam (from the museum) about hosting an event. The responses from this forum will help determine whether or not the event would be successful. For more information about the museum visit thier web site, National Corvette Museum. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I have attended many events at the NCM and love going. Please post any feedback about this idea.
Thanks!
Andrea

Excellent idea, I've actually been looking for an excuse to go to the Corvette Museaum- however, my vacation time is limited, and if I do anything extended w/ cars this year, it's going to be the National Z Car Convention- more information here: http://www.zccne.addr.com/Convention_2003/index.htm Event is in October- I went to the 1997 National Z Car Convention - had a blast - this one will be excellent too...

I am there! The Middle Tennessee Z Club did a Z caravan up there this year and it was a blast. For those of you who have never been, it is a very nice collection and is of great value to all automotive enthusiasts.
I've always wanted to see where and how Corvettes are born. However, this may be an ignorant question, but how safe would imports be from vandalism, etc.? I hear horror stories from fellow 300 owners in Detroit who are forced to sell their Z because they're scared about import-hate vandalism.
If anything, you should get the Middle Tennessee Z Club to petition ZCCA to host next year's national Z convention there. Last year's Z convention was held in San Antonio and this year's Z convention will be held in New Hampshire, IIRC.
Either way, I'd be interested and if all else fails, I'd fly or drive in my SE-R.

I doubt that a NCM event would include vandalism
never know though. Count me in as I have been past there many times but have alway been headed to a race. It would be nice to vist and check out all the vetts. After all they love to go fast around corners too!
If the Middle Tenn Z Car wants to, lets have a scouting party go up there to check out the natives. I'm game. Course every body knows the best way to get there is up through the middle of Ky.
65 is boring.

There should not be any threat for any type of vehicles there. Bowling Green, KY is a small city (only 2 exits long). People are use to big car events being held there. It is amazing to me that the locals still come by the vette events even though they live in "vette city". Thanks for you feedback.

That is a good idea too. The NCM holds many vette events year round. It would be cool for the Middle Tennessee Z Club to visit one of the events. The vette owners would love checking out the Z's and vice versa.
Although our 350Zs were born in Japan, NISSAN has a plant (Altimas, Frontiers, Xterras) just south of Nashville so maybe our car company would be intrested in hosting such an event at the Nashville Speedway or other location.
