I have 12 K on a 04 touring. Is it a good idea to get an extension before the 3/36 runs out. If so; what kind and price and type of warranty is the best

 

I always buy the extended warranty when I purchase a new car. I had a car that once I got to 97,000 miles the motor crapped out on it. Since I had a 100K warranty it was covered. After that I figure the extra $1000 or so is worth it.

 

You can get the extended warranty at any time. You might as well wait until you get closer to 3/36 before buying it unless you think you might need the extra coverage sooner. If you can afford it, I say get it now to be extra covered. It should cost around $1k.
