FI 350Z - Z06 - M3 - or SRT-6
Hey Guys I need some help.... Here is the situation...... The Hurricane that ripped through Florida a month ago really messed up my moms roof. Well my step dad past away, and I was there giving my mom some moral support. The third night there it rained again, and the garage roof gave up the goose. The problem was my car was under it.
It only did about 7k dollars worth of damage. It does not look horrible just bad. I now have $20,000 to spend on a vehicle - homeowners and moms contribution.
1. I can go with a TT set-up for the Z, and get the damage fixed ($18,000). I spoke with mike at AAM, but I have heard so many different things about which to go with. I then worry about reliability- I dont want a $50k paper weight.
2. Trade the Z for a 04 Z06 put down 20k and keep my payments the same.
I will be at ground zero for mods, and will have to start all over (wheels- suspension-etc).
3. Trade the Z for Srt-6 Crossfire and put down 14k and keep payments the same and use 6k to mod it. (limited aftermarket for this vehicle - they are not respected and highley underrated.)
4. Trade the Z for a M3 and put down 20k and have my payment go up about $130 a mo. This option was just funny. I dont see the value in it, but maybe I am missing something so I am posting it.
Guys please help me what should I do.. Either way I have to make a decision and it is driving me up the wall.. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

TT the Z, im not in to american cars... so its TT Z vs. M3 and you right i dont see the point in it either except reliability i guess but the TT Z would be what i would do. You dont want an 04 Z06, rather look at the new C6's non Z06, alteast have something new.

I wouldn't get the Crossfire SRT-6 no matter what. Sure, you'd have a quick car, but you wouldn't get the street credibility you're looking for. And it's a lot uglier than all the other cars you suggested.

y dont u fix the Z...and donate the rest of the money to ur mom...good karma! cuz 20G's thats a lot of money that u can invest to make more money..unless ur already rich and have money then..just forget wut i said...then i would just go with the TT set up..

I would get an 02 ZO6 with less than 10k miles for about 33grand. Put 13k down to keep payments the same or even lower then before. Then drop a maggie twin screw on top the LS1 engine which is a real easy bolt on turn key mod for about 6 grand. Leaves you with 1000$ for one heck of a night in vegas at the craps table and strip bars. Who knows maybe you can turn that 1000 in to 5000. lol I love spending others people money on stuff. hahaha

Damn all of those sound like good options. I don't know too much about the crossfire, so I can't say much about that. But I guess my preference of the cars would be (from most wanted to least wanted) would be:
1) BMW M3...BMW cars (especially the M series) have the best depreciation value. You get awesome German luxury, refinement, and performance. I guess the only bad thing about BMWs would be that maintenance costs will be a beotch if something wrong happens to it. I'm assuming you're gonna get this car new, so that's why I'm picking it as my number one selection.
2) Corvette Z06...I'm not really a big fan of American cars, but I'm just astounded how the Corvette performs. I believe the model you're looking at is around 405 hp or something at the flywheel (correct me if I'm wrong). But for all around performance, the Corvette is tough to beat. The only reason why it's second to the M3 is because I absolutely HATE THE ATROCIOUS INTERIOR!!! OMG GM needs to hire another designer because the corvette's interior (2006 models included) don't do any justice to the exterior curves and internal performance.
3) TT 350z...don't call me a hater on the Z's or anything, but since you are in the middle of tough financial times, reliability should be a huge determining factor in your decision. Sure the Z with a built engine and turbo kit will probably be the fastest car in the lineup, but if something goes wrong with that car, I'm sure you don't want a "paperweight" like you said earlier. If you were to keep the Z, I say spend enough money to restore it to stock condition (or whatever modded condition you had it in before) and save the rest of the money (for your mom, bills, rainy day, whichever)
4) Crossfire...the only reason I put the Crossfire on the bottom of this list is simply because I don't know anything about it. It may be underrated and very powerful, but I'm sure this car has its fair shares of cons as well
well hope this helps. Good luck with everything and happy motoring.

All Great ideas thanks alot...
My mom is not in any financial need I assure you. I am doing OK I guess. I am not rich by no means, but I am not broke either. My wife and I have several goals and plans to retire on. Every month after setting aside what we allot to saving and old folks life- WE Blow The Rest. The 20k is what I had alloted to the car. I think I am going to stay away from FI with all the current post floating around. I am going to fix the car, pay it off, and add the last two bolt on mods I can do plenum spacer - piggy back.
This is being conservative because I dont drink, I dont smoke and I dont party. The only things I spend money on is running track days on my bike that I just sold (ZX-10R) and my boat (family tool). So my car is it for the moment. I am just going to fix it, and save for the new GTR I love the way it looks. I am a Sales Mgr at a Nissan Store- so I will get it at EP Pricing from our brothers next door. Thanks for all of the help guys.

+1.....for me the best choice and the best balance of performance and class. The Crossfire is just an old SLK with Chryslerbuild quality.....the Z06 is still a rattle trap Chevy with the cheapest interior on earth. The TT Z is just too much constant maintenance since your warranty is history.

Hahaha if you are afraid of FI.. then you will be afraid of the Torque Demon that is the z06... If you aren't used to that kind of powerband your first week or so could be dangerous to that cars health... But that car is a beast out of the box. So that would be my choice. BUT! I did choose the 350z over the C5 when I bought it, because the car appealed to me. To me vettes are a dime a dozen. A little while ago I was researching the overbore project for the car but it can get pretty expensive... I never really got a straight price but have been told that it is far more costly than going FI... but If I see long term... I would overbore to 4.3 then... FI... hahahathat will have you plenty ready to park outside of the nissan dealership in 2007 or 2009 and whoop everyone going out for a GTR test drive MWAHAHAHA...
