Rice?
Sad first post (been trolling for a long time)...but I have had the exact same antenna for around 5 months. The top of the bottom metalic part, the bottom most that touches the black part, has developed some rust or discoloration. I just got finished with finals and plan on trying to use rust/blue remover to get it off. If that doesn't work I plan on putting the factory antenna back on...As for reception...I had a aftermarket stereo put in at the same time as the antenna (my antenna came in while my car was in the shop). When I did a aftermarket stereo in my Range Rover my reception was a lot weaker. So, I just assumed that aftermarket stereos , in general, did not pick up radio as well.
Here's the shorty I bought. I am in questionable reception area and the reception did decrease. I could still get the strong stations well. But, the far away stations went away. Most of the time, I have this antenna on and listen to CD's.

However, if I want to get better reception I just pop this S2000 antenna on. It looks pretty good and gives me better than even the stock antenna did:

I prefer the s2000 stubby. A friend of mine bought that one your looking at from courtesy and the reception is terrible with it. I wouldnt waste my time with it. If ts just for show then do it. I think it looks good on the car but, no functionality.

i have that antenna, i like it....only reason i got it was because the first time i took my Z on a long trip and came back, the stock antenna was bent back due to the wind on the long drive
