To me my 350 is the best car but...
I am an avid reader of this site. i am constantly on it reading and checking out the awesome things people have done to modify their Z. the sense of community and belonging to a culture of owners sharing to the greatness of our cars but something makes no sense....why must people state that their car is the best and put down other owners of cars that are not a zee? are you people not just plain car lovers? are we not sharing a common bond between all car owners who love speed, style and display? I rub my car down with the proverbial diaper every chance i get but i still stop and stare when another cool car drives by. i love cars. period and it makes no sense to put down other cars/people because their car isnt as expensive or as fast. sure there are allot of people out there who think their car is the sh*t when they have some plymouth acclaim with a huge drag fin, or a civic with a huge tin can muffler or any car done in bad taste, but lets face it they love their cars as much as we do and i am sure they would want a zee just as much as i would love a porsche. i am not for all show and no go but its hella lame to put someone down because they couldnt afford a nicer car. take srt-4 owners for example. there car is on paper in almost all respects 1 tenth slower than a zee car...which makes it pretty fast. why put those dudes down? my buddy owns one and its awesome and sure i know he wishes it could be a zee or a porsche or a lambo but dont we all? hell if he didnt buy the srt i prolly would have. my car is ten times the car his is but we both love cars and love our cars the best. i just wonder if im the only true car lover out there. i just had to get this off my chest.
.. I thought this was obvious.
I love all cars. I've owned american, european, and now for the first time: Japanese. Let me tell you when I owned the Mustang I NEVER imagined myself in a Japanese car.. but having friends who all love cars with different taste I've learned quite a bit about all types of cars and have grown to appreciate them all as well..

+1, I also belong to this forum called performancesport.net which is local to the Bay Area. They have weekly meets for fun, etc. Was started by a group of SRT-4 owners.. so at first I thought it was just another SRT-4 club. TUrns out the guys there are really cool and they made the site because they were sick and tired of just single car forums; they're into *all* cars, including bikes. So I totally agree with the original poster
+1, ill admit i have a dangerous habit of checking every car that drives by in the opposite direction when driving on the freeway. Many times i've thought i could crash any moment since i wasnt paying full attention to the road instead of the cars going by, lol... Hell, i still stare at celicas (specially GTS models)
The misconception here is that there are more haters present then true car enthusiasts. Its simply not true. The majority of my350Z.com posters are true car enthusiasts who appreciate all makes and models, and I'm speaking of everyone, not just the 350Z owners. Like every other site, we have our fair share of posers and fanbois. Don't let them fool you, they do not speak for all of us.
One of the best points of an open forum is that anyone can post. One of the worse points is that anyone can post. Your best weapon against threads which you do not approve is to ignore. And with an average 2.4 posts/month, I believe that is the tactic which you have chose.
This is what a hobby is all about. It's having this hobby that makes you happy. Being able to share it by talking to other car enthusiasts and making new friends that share your interests is really what ends up giving you the excitement. Those who own really expensive cars, but who are not true enthusiasts probably don't get much of a thrill out of it (just using the car as status, etc), and probably get their thrills out of other hobbies they might have... that's them. This however, is us.
