Do you ever feel cramped in your Z?
I'm 6' 4" plus, 230 lbs. I also track my Z. When I put on a helmet, my head used to hit the headliner. I added a roll bar, and the bar caused me to lose 4" of seat travel, then I was REALLY cramped. Had to install a racing seat and custom brackets to get the seat low enough and far back enough to fit without hitting my head.
I really wish the Z had a telescoping steering wheel! My long legs force the seat to be all the way rearward, but the wheel is just stuck in the same place.

6'4" 240...
Huh, I didn't think about clearance for a helmet. I'm looking to do some track events in '06 so hopefully it fits. As of right now, if I sit upright, I barely have any clearance.

I'm 5'10 and 200LBS. Keep trying to get under that number. Oh well, back to the topic; I do not have to put my seat all the way back and plenty of head room for a helmet. If I want to take a nap, I jump to the passenger side where if I pull the seat up a bit I can recline the seat to a very nice angle. Give me a throw cushion or two and blanket and I am good for five hours or so.
Really for a sports car it has quite a bit of room inside. I am quite impressed, even more so as time goes by ....

If it were a customizable Z, I would have the roof line lower and seat lower to the floor and make the whole car shorter than it is. I think its a bit tall for a sports car, any more headroom increase with the current setup would not sport car like anymore.
I think Nissan has made a decent compromise with practicality, but could be better.

5'10" 210. No problems in the cockpit. No problems getting in and out, , unless, , , I'm in a parking lot and there's a car too close on the drivers side. Having to hang on to the door to prevent a ding or keep the door from taking off my foot before I can get my butt out of the vehicle seems to be a chore. I'm sure I have looked like an idiot getting out of a tight parking spot more than once.
And then looked around to see if anyone saw me.
I'm 6'5" and let's just say that I better not have a growth spurt anytime soon ... which is probably a safe bet at 31 years old. Wish there was just a couple inches more leg room, but that's it. Overall, no complaints.
I had to get custom lowered seats to get enough headroom in my Z.....legroom is just right....I'm 6'7" and 250 lbs.
Oddly enough I've found the new IS350 has nearly 2" less headroom than even the Z!!!! Kinda puts that one out of the picture.....I've been using the Z as a comparison to the IS for cab dimensions on another forum to show how ridiculous that is.....the Miata has about the same headroom as the IS.

That is why I think that the roadster would not necessarly give me more leg room, but more freedom of not having that cramped feeling.

NOT AT ALL! im 5'5 135lbs and girls i date are shorter then me so u name the position oooOO yeah it works PERFECT FOR ME! hahahahah before i ever sat in the Z i thought it was goin to be like a S2k...ELBOW touching ELBOW..but I remeber the first time i sat in my Z (i own it now) i was like WOW! this **** is hella bigger then i thought...so im very happy inside...its perfect for me..
I pulled up behind a RX-8 at a gas station this morning and the Z looks way bigger. The RX and it's back seat would make you even more crampped. Anyway, I think a sports car is supposed to give that snug feeling. I am 5' 10 @ 150 and fit just right by the way
