Default Alarm Issue

Recently someone tried to break into my car and destroyed the door lock in the process. While replacing the door lock I found that the alarm switch inside had also been messed up. I could have easily replaced the switch but chose not to as I do want the alarm to go off in the event someone ever gets the drivers door open. Now the problem is that if I ever open the door with the key, the alarm will also go off and the alarm does not stop unless I lock and unlock the car with the key fob. Even starting the car with the key does not get the alarm to stop. Question: Do you know how I could possibly get the Alarm to stop? This is a not a big issue as this will only happen if the key fob that I am carrying stops working and I have to use the key.
PS: If you are worried about potential theives reading this then please PM me the response.

Also, I was not sure if this was a mechanical issue or an electronics issue. Hence I posted in the general section.

Anyone? Will disconnecting the battery do the trick? Are there any consequences of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? Maybe the TPMS etc gets reset?

I never use my key to open the car... too much risk of scratching the finish....

sorry for not being helpful...

is it aftermarket? or stock? if its stock go see if nissan will give you tips on what to do and how to do it yourself, if its aftermarket go to the shop you got it installed in and have them give you some tips. other than that, i dont know what you should do. i always use the keyless entry to get in.
