Default METLIFE DOESN"T WANT TO PAY FOR VANDALISM!!!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!! A month ago I posted on here, my car was vandalized. They don't want to pay ME! They called me and said the case is now under investigation and they literally want to interrogate me. They are setting up an appointment to come down and interview me under recording, for an hour! This has happened to a friend and family member of mine before. They put it under investigation. The investigator calls you sets up an appointment, and sounds like the friendliest person in the world, and then they come down and ask you a whole ****load of questions and then try to put the blame on you. I pay $4,000 a year in insurance full coverage for what!?! Unreal. Its alot of damage.

thats some serious bullsh*t man, if your paying that much for full coverage, they should hand you the check no questions asked. I say, if you do come out on top, and they do grant you the fix, switch immediately to a different company.

Allstate does not offer insurance to MA. MetLife is Metropolitan insurance, they are one of the largest insurance companies in the US. Surprised you haven't heard of them, they advertise nationwide. And also if you don't mind me asking, who is that girl in your avatar, I've always been wondering.

Well I would bring all the info you need. Just answer the questions as they want them to be answered. If for some reason they say they will not pay...I would ask to speak to someone higher up than some claims adjuster.

BTW...Erie Insurance here...I pay about $800/9mths of full coverage.

Come on, you know the commercial!! Get Met, It pays!

(which apparently is bull****)

Just go in an be cool and tell the investigator your story... in all honesty, it sounds completely legit.. they have to protect their money too... If he's too harsh then play the game, get your money, and switch. Also write the BBB and tell them about their business practices.. even if legally they weren't completely in the wrong, people can look up every complaint.

Personally, if the interogator was all ****ing putting the heat lamp on me and giving me the scare tactics, I'd tell him he has no right to make you feel uncomfortable and if he continues you will contact your lawyer.

Seems like all they should need is a police report and a damage estimate. Maybe your claim raised a red flag somewhere - hence the investigation.

Gave them everything they wanted. Police report, everything. Yes four thousand a year for full coverage. And now this. I'm switching as soon as I get a chance.

I guess now the only choice you have is to be cool during the interview and I am sure that it will work out. Statefarm set an investigator on me when I had a second bike stolen in little of a year. The guy talked to me for more than an hour and I guess he was satisfied as they gave me well over the market value for the bike.

Bottom line is if someone really vandalized it, you're completely in the clear. No need to try to act any way. if you do try to put up some kind of front, and they knock you off your guard and you get scared, that's all they need.. so just tell your story

MA and NJ are probably the only states that have a worse reputation than LA when it comes to auto insurance. I pay over $1700/year but I also have fairly high coverages.

I've told them the story many times over. And my friend told me how they interview you. He said its more like an interrogation, because they'll start off with questions as far as what happened etc. Then they veer off and start asking personal, financial, history, and family questions. He answered everything they wanted, and they denied his claim. Been searching around the internet too, on MetLife, and looks like he's not the only. According to a report done on MetLife, within the past few years, they have been steadily denieing more and more claims. I'm worried, because I don't want to get screwed, and now that factor is there where I'm at a big chance being screwed over.

Pay a lawyer to sit in....? I would welcome the investigation myself, sounds like you are expecting the worst. Take it easy...
