Default New Owner Questions

Well the car arrived as a dealer trade, much would have rather it been flatbedded then driven the 150 miles by a "retiree" (ya right). When I got it home I noticed that the drivers outboard seat bolster was damaged by the retiree in that he did not lift himself in the seat but slid in & must have had something in his pockets as the leather is peeling off in spots & where the rounded part seams from side to top is also scuffed & peeling, called the dealer told me to bring it in. Also in manual it says there is a switch to activate the hatch cutoff but in imine all that is ther is a plastic plate. The manual also shows the 05 navigation system. Should there be a hatch cutoff switch in the rear glove box?

Sorry but I know of no switch to active the rear hatch cut off. You can open the hatch:

1. With the key fob
2. A push plate above the license plate.
3. An emergency pull ring under the rear strut brace.

Thanks for the reply, upon reading further it seems that switch is available only on the roadster. Any ideas about how the dealer will fix or take care of the leather problem on the seat bolster.

Steve1173 - I had some leather repaired by a dealers shop some 6 years ago now. I was just noting the fact that you still can't tell where the repair is over 6 years later to my wife.

If you get a good upolstery shop you'll never see a repair. No worries .....

I had premature wearing on my 03 Burnt Orange leather seat Bolsters. I complained about it and dealer re upholstered seat UNDER WARRANTY. Before I went in I looked at a couple of Used Zs on the lot and could see that they also had worn seat bolsters.

I can understand the wear on the bolsters but the car has 224 miles on it when I picked it up, seems 88 at the original dealer, guess some test drives & the rest for the dealer trade, it came like that I did not notice it at first but as soon as I got it home I did. It is not normal wear as the leather is peeling/flaking off.

take it back to the dealer. you shouldnt see normal wear this early in the vechicle's life. They should cover it becuase you havent even driven the car 100 miles. If the repair is noticable when their done, demand a new seat.
