Ok guys update as of today my Zed is about 200 miles away from 90k ....Gulp getting damn near close to 100k. I'm still on the stock trans and clutch and the only major issue so far is the dreaded driver window motor is acting up. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations on any differential fluids I can use and replace with since I was thinking of possibly doing that at this point also.

24K on mine. People who don't know Zs sometimes ask if it's an 06. My biggest complaint is the paint swirls. Hopefully the feathering doesn't return.

62,000 and still holding. My car smells like burnt clutch after I drive home. I have grease on my window. I had my transmission replaced. Other than that it's running fine. Oh and I still need my fuel hose replaced.

Got 61k on my 03 with only minor issues, window rolls back down when I hit the auto up, tranny rattle when clutch is not engaged, and rear suspension creaks a bunch. My solutions to these problems are very simple, for the window I install new window rails b/c the rubber on the top was worn & cracked which screwed with the self adjustment when the window was rolled up, for the suspension I got new springs and revised shocks which where made to support more weight and not wear out so quick, as far as the tranny rattle replace the clutch and flywheel along with all new bearings + RP fluids. Should be all good after that or at least a lot better

I have 45,000 on my 03 and no problems to report...well there is a small indentation in my passengers side dash from when I was having some sexy-time in the Z and the lady's high heel dug into it

Have you washed or waxed your car within the first few months of ownership? You shouldn't wash a new car for a few months so the paint can completely cure. Wouldn't wax that thing for the first year.

I guess it's ok to hand wash it lightly after the first couple of months. My brother waxed his new Black WRX after I told him not too and he paid for it, because it was covered in swirls from then on.

It is OK to wash/wax your car when bought new. The paint won't take much time to cure it may takes only few weeks.

+1, yep, the paint is practically fully cured from the factory already. The way the factory 'bakes' the paint is totally different from how body shops do it.

Now if you just had it repainted at a body shop, you would have to wait a bit for it to fully cure.

Back on topic, I'm actually quite impressed to hear that Z's have been holding up that well after all those miles. My A/C goes into "Auto" mode sometimes too when I turn it off and mines is an '05. I can still turn the A/C back on though without turning on the car again. I have an aftermarket sound system too.. dunno if that's what caused it.
