I was hoping to get the base in the low 27's.....is that a doable figure. Secondly....are the five point 18's standard on the base?

Thanks in advance........
I'm hoping to get my (stripped) 2006 base model for $29,000 OTD or less in May...

When I bought my 03 Brick I found it at a dealer 300 miles away using the dealer search.

I've tried that Nissan search a few times and according to it, when I search for a base model, 6 speed, in redline, it says all of my local dealers have one close to that in stock and I know for a fact they don't. They may each have a base or a redline or a coupe but none have all the criteria on their lots.

See below.....

You should have either done more research or tried bargaining more. You could have gotten a much better deal.

dang...Alan Webb Nissan here in Vancouver, WA was accepting almost every offer on their 05's. They were getting 1 of every 06 edition so they had to get rid of the older ones....sucked because i was lookin to get one for cheap...but playing baseball with the guys son as a kid allowed me to get an 06 Base for 27500 including tax. Their "invoice" is only what they really WANT to get for it...not what they actually paid for it in some cases!

Here on the west coast, and i'd assume it goes for all nissan dealerships, they search 5 states for your car. And if they cant find one that is what you want exactly, they pay the extra costs for special ordering one. Its nice.

Use your resources, luckily for me I had a fraternity brother that was a sales manager at a nissan here and I got one of the first ones to dock right at October. I paid 28k for an enthusiast and out the door it was 29,200 with taxes and some random things like tire protection and all those random things. Already put 4k miles on my car, insane huh? but I love driving it. Anywho I talked to my buddy and he said the 06's go like hotcakes on the lot now, so go talk to them and get one on reserve, then go to the next dealer and do the same, as they both come in haggle between the two dealerships. Thank god I didnt have to do that, hey who said paying for friends in college wouldnt pay off some day.

i just bought me 06 base for about 25,700. I paid about 28,000 OTD. I bought mine in southern california so I'm not sure if its any different in NY. I also purchased my car 3 days before the year ended so they were willing to work with me on the price.

Yep that's what it means. It's sold by Nissan and various aftermarket sheed shops. Nismo is Nissan's racing arm. There's lot's of Nismo stuff available, do a search on here then go to google.
A google search will produce such as this:

I got my base for 27,600 total. I have driven in the snow, and it was fine. If snow is an issue, just get winter, or all season tires. Makes all the difference in the world.

I would buy a '06 base have the dealer install the NISMO LSD and sways.

Then have them sell it to you OTD tax lic and reg for less than 30K that would be a good deal in my opinion.

Just be aware that cruise control can not be added later.

If cruise control is important then get a enthuast with NISMO sways OTD for under 30K that would also be a good deal. You won't have quite as good a LSD as the Base with a NISMO in it but still a really, really good set up for most people.
Trackable.

OTD is important when you purchase but it is of little value for comparison because taxes vary so much. Negisiate in steps.

New car from published invoice. Dealers can make money selling at invoice.
Fees- dealers add fees not required by statute or charge for statute fees far in excess of that required by law (at least they did in FL when I was there).
Paper work or advertizing fees are nogiated even though they may be preprinted on the sales contract. Make them adjust the purchase price.
IF they hit you with warranty, or thing like fabric or paint protection, pass.
you can get better warranty deals out side of the dealer or if you are more comfortable with extended warranty this too is a nogiated price. Interest rate. Know what your bank charges- including any fees- the dealer should beet it. Trade in- This is LAST thing you nogiate. Any nogiation on the trade can and will be hidden somewhere else in the deal if you don't do this last. Don't expect anything for you used car. Most anything over 3 years or 50k miles goes to auction or traveling wholesaler. I shopped my last trade in- Sienna Van- to Toyota dealers and Car Max to see what it was really worth.
Selling your trade may affect the sales tax you pay.

I've been looking for some leftover '05 enthusiasts myself, but can't find many anywhere around here.
