Had a bad rattling coming from the hatch area for about a month. Tried several things to try to fix it. Took it to the dealer and they kept her for two days, gave me a loaner, etc. They said they took off all of the trim around the hatch door and put some rattle mat under it.

Got it back, drove it that night quite a bit and it was gone. Until the next morning when it showed back up. So I tried looking for it myself again and finally found it. The hatch latch was squeaking. I took off the trim around it tightened one of the screws, drove it again, and it was gone. Hasn't been back since.

So any of you guys that have the rear rattle problem, check the latch on the hatch door. I just opened the hatch and gave it a tug and could hear the squeak.

What do you mean by "hatch latch"?

I recently had a rear rattle coming from back... might be the same thing.

 

never had any rattle back there almost 2 years now

 

i striped my rear before and i never heard any noises...

 

Ive had the same problem for a long time now. I havnt been able to pin point where its coming from. I have a feeling its coming from the rear windshiled wiper motor and the pastic backing on the top of the hatch.. but I cant be for sure.

What exactly do you mean by "hatch latch"... Ill check mine.

I mean the little metal loop that sticks off the hatch door that holds it closed. Open the hatch and look up, you'll see it. Give it a tug and see if it squeaks.
