I'd say a Vette, my friend is 19 and has one, but he has a receding hairline. I picked up my Z at 18 because guess what I work my *** off and I live at home so I can afford to pay it off in a few years while I'm school...

My Z was my retirement present to myself for nearly 24 years of military service when I didn't know month-to-month where on the planet the US Navy was going to move me.

I didn't buy the BMW sedans because they have four seats and the Z4 was just ugly. I didn't buy the Corvette because I still have a full head of hair. I did test drive the Boxster and Carrerra but couldn't see driving around the city I live in with one ... "yo foo give up the car" with a Glock 40 stuck in my ear. I test drove the Audi TT as well.

The Z is a nice car that has a good looks-to-performace-to-cost ratio.

I voted for the 350Z Roadster b/c the other 3 cars I usually associate w/ older drivers anyway. The Z just screams, "I want to look cool and drive a convertible w/out dropping $40K+" I think the Z Roadster is meant for younger drivers.

Well, since I've been driving Z's for 20 years and sports cars even longer I can't really say. I had my first Z at 26 and I'm now 47 so I've kind of grown old with these cars. People can think mid life crisis if they want. If so then it started at a very young age.

There are no mid-life crisis cars, only mid-life crisis people. These are the people that buy high performanmce sports cars and drive them like old men; the cars never see redline or feel the screech of a tire. Poor cars...

Well, Im 25 and I have modded Z. And I dont see myself as hitting a mid-life crisis. Im just having some fun before the shackles of a wife get put on. She can't say no if its already in the garage. lol But my Dad, now he's a little different. And the answer is Corvette. He turned 45 and out the door went the sedan and in the door came 2 corvettes. A coupe and a Conv. He had to supply for my Moms "crisis" as well (of course). Now he's fifty and the Corvettes keep coming (every year), and he claims they have the most comfortable seats for his aching back. What a bunch of B.S. I mean he couldn't think up a better line than that? "The seats are good for my back." I almost pissed myself laughing so hard at him when he told me that excuse for having 2 at the same time and driving them everyday in traffic in D.C.

Vette! In regards to mid-life crisis, it also has and it always will standout most than any others. Heck, check the poll so far 60% for vette at 142 votes with boxster at 25% and the other 2 at 7 and 8%.

None of the above. My Z coupe was my almost 40 present to myself. By 45 it will likely be either another Z, a Z06 Vette or something else fast.

If an '06 Corvette sold for around $30,000...

Many more twentysomethings and older would buy them.

Fifty years old is midlife, only if you live to be 100 years old.

"What SCREAMS mid-life crisis more?"

That implies that all of the above mentioned cars scream mid-life crisis to one degree or another (I know what you mean, just a question of semantics).

I don't look at cars that way. I ignore comments about my Z being a mid-life crisis car. I got those two remarks from people who knew little about cars and their enthusiasm was much less. Maybe they thought they were too "mature" (old) for that. I've been driving muscle cars, import sport compacts (NA, turbo and modded) and sports cars since I was 16.

I'm 45. If this is a mid-life crisis car, then I've been in mid-life crisis for the last 29 years. Let the public think whatever they want. I get to drive the car

I just ignored them, because I already received two such comments from people in my age group.

If they were kids, I would say, "Wouldn't you like to be driving a machine like this if you were my age?"

The question is lame... I didn't vote because I don't think any of those cars screams mid-life crises. I'd gladly have a corvette now if I was in that price range. The other cars are all pretty great too. Age has nothing to do with it. Isn't midlife crises a term for somebody 40-50ish who's played it safe all their life and is trying to recapture some of the wilder times in their life? I've got a 350z now, 28yrs old, and I'll probably always have some sports car the whole way thru until I die. Does that make the period between 40-50 midlife crises time?

+1

I've always owned hot cars and I'm now 53. If you think just because you get older you don't like to play, then you are old.

When you have to start using Viagra, that's mid life crisis. But leaving a supply in your Z, just in case is forward planning at ist best.

PS: car for mid life crisis; Corvette ALL the WAY
