HELP: Difference between the different models.
Hi.
Hope that you can help me.
I'm new to this forum, cause I'm planning on selling my car this spring, and then buying a new one.
I had chosen that it should be the Honda S2000, but I've become kinda crazy about the 350Z, but I'm trying to find out the good and bad things about the Z and S2k.
So if you have any, will you be kind posting some?
And is there any difference between the Z from 2003 - 2005? And if so what?
Thanks for your help.

There have been PLENTY of topics regarding the pro's and con's of the Z. If you want to learn more about the S2000, this is the wrong board to do it on. Yes, there are differences between 2003 and 2005. Mainly interior changes (knee pads, color of trim, console design, etc). Most people would recommend getting a 2004-2005 instead of a 2003 due to the problems associated with the first model year. But, there are quite a few 2003 owners without any problems.
My suggestion would be to drive both cars as much as possible before making a decision. I have had a lot of seat time in both cars, as I have a 350Z, and 3 of my buddies have/had S2K's. Here are a couple of my opinions of each:
S2K: SMALL! For a heavier guy like me, it almost feels like I'm driving a go-cart. I'm really packed in the car, but it makes for a fun experience. But, having said that, I couldn't deal with the small size on an everyday basis. If you are a smaller guy though, this might not be a problem. Also, it is very limited in trunk space. The Z doesn't have a lot, but it's got much more usuable space than the S2K.
Also, the S2K makes power much different than the Z. As with many Hondas, you have to rev up to high RPMs before the VTEC kicks in and it really starts to move. As a Z driver, I'm used to having a lot of low end torque, not driving a car at the higher RPMs, but this is something you'd get used to on either car. The S2K handles excellent too.
The S2K is also a convertible, which could sway you if that's important. I love borrowing my buddies S2K and cruising around in the summertime with the top down. Overall, the S2K is a very fun car to drive.
350Z: Much more roomy inside, and has more overall storage space. I can pack two large bags in the back for vacations or whatever. The seating is also a lot more roomy, and you don't feel nearly as cramped in the cabin. Like I said before, if you're a smaller guy, this might not be an issue at all. I also prefer the analog guage cluster in the Z over the digital one in the S2K.
The Z, IMO, is just funner to drive. It's so easy to kick the rear end out, and the car really moves around town, stoplight to stoplight. The low end torque is nice, and I prefer it over the high RPM power of the Honda, but this is a personal preference. I personally like the looks of the Z better, but again, that's just my opinion. And of course, you can get the Z in a convertible, although I like the coupe better. The Z also handles really well. My friends always want to drive it.
Like I said, the best thing for you to do would be to drive both, as extensively as possible, and then make a choice on what's best FOR YOU. Just as one last bit of info, my buddy Matt who has an S2K, told me that he really, really wanted to hate the Z, but when we swapped cars on a mountain run one afternoon, he said he LOVES it. To me, that's the best compliment I've got on my car. I hope this helps some.

Hi.
Thanks alot for the info!!
I'm a small person, but still I like to have some space in my car.
The Convertible ting, was one of the things I fell for about the S2k, I've also looked at the convertible Z, but I like the coupe better. And by further thinking, there's not so many days in Denmark where it's so hot that I can ride with the top down, without taking som extra clothes on.
I was out at a dealer to se the Z today. and it was really nice! love the overall design, the only thing I think is a little - is the door design, I think there's something missing.
It's quite hard to get the dealers to let a guy like me try such a car (I'm 24), because the car cost around 113.000 USD in Denmark. So it's quite alot.
But Thanks for your reply's and hope to se more.
