Default Extended Warranty

Hey I have a question for everyone. Has anyone purchased an extended warranty on their 350, either from the dealer or from another company? If so, what are the specs (Miles/Months) and the prices? Thanks!

Cool

Question: Why buy an "extended" warranty for the first three years when you already have the 36 month factory warranty for free? The first three years of the extended warranty are pretty much wasted. Far better to wait and get the extended warranty close to the time the factory 36 month warranty is up. Even if the extra three-year extended warranty ends up costing the same as a six-year extended warranty, you got to use that $$$ for other things for the first three years.

I bought mine on a pre owned 03' w/ 40K miles... Definitely worth it as i figured one transmission would justify the cost... I'm at 50K miles now and my tranny is starting worry me.

well i just bought an '03 with 16,250 miles on it on Dec 31. The 3yr/36k mile warranty expires in July, I was just considering the extended warranty b4 the original one expires. I still have the 5ry/60k mile powertrain warranty. I just don't want to over pay for a warranty.

check the contract carefully as used car warranties don't always cover everything... your powertrain is already covered...

at the end of the day, all it really does is give you peace of mind, and for some peace of mind is worth more than for others...

Any advice or insight on whether it's better to opt for a Nissan warranty (a couple of hundred $ cheaper) with the $50 deductable, or just pay a couple hundred more for the version that covers everything? I noticed you have to option on every warranty level they offer to buy with the $50 deductable.

I wonder how much the Pre-Owned Preferred warranty is. It could be worthwhile peace of mind if not too expensive.

Lucky! Mine was 6yr/100k for $1600. The shifty guy in finance tried to change that to 60 mo (5yr)/100k when I was paying. I had to point out that the sales guy offered me 72months
I drive about 15k a year so the 7/100 would have been perfect

If you plan on doing a lot of mods I suppose the warranty is a waste of money since only stuff that was originally installed at the time of purchase is covered.

Also, I didn't think you could purchase the Full warranty after the fact? Don't know for sure tho.

BTW - The extended warranty is transferable so it makes it easier to sell the car (assuming there's some time left on the warranty when that happens) even if it doesn't necessarily add to the price.
