Polyurethane repair?!?! HELP!!!
ok my wife moved the car last night and f'ed up my Aerosync bumper. she ran up on a parking curb and scuffed the front lip and underneath. she hit it so hard it cracked the poly bumper in sort of a star shape right between the grill opening and the top part of the lip. now the cracks are all the way through, but not longer than 1 1/2". can this be fixed without buying a new damn bumper?
I HAVE PICS, but CANNOT post them due to i am in another town and in a hotel until tuesday. PLEASE HELP!

I think most body shops can repair minor polyurethane damage.
As soon as you get out on parole for whacking your wife with an axe I'd check at the nearest reputable collision center.
Ok, only kidding...you should never use an axe.

Its repairable. The body shop would use the bumper repair kit they use on most stock bumpers. Its like a plastic gel, that once its spread on, will dry and seal the crack, then they'll sand it down, spread putty, sand it down to a smooth finish, primer, paint, back home

They can fix URETHANE bumpers but it will probably be about half as much as the cost of the bumper not including paint... depending on the shop...
Bondo and laid fiberglass will make up your bumper where the crack is...

I just went over a curb and put a hole in my lower front bumper and cracked it near the passenger side reflector. It was scratched and looked like @$$ but some body shops said it could be fixed. Its in there right now. What they are using is a plastic weld, bondo, and fiberglass resins or something like that. I was told by other body shops that even though all that is put on, the front bumper is still weak and very prone to re-cracking. Ill learn on my own though.

After you trade in the wife.....Contact a company called Dent Wizard. They were developing a new process to use a "plastic welding process" that lays in more polyurethane before priming and painting. No Bondo or fiberglass to freeze and fall out. They may be marketing the process through a subsidary comy called Chip Wiz. If it's done right it will look fine. Cost is pretty cheap too, as they don't paint the entire bumper.
