Angry Dealership says my car has problems and need repairs!!!

I made a thread on how i keep taking my car into the dealership for SES light (Service engine soon) for the 8th time Well!!! i guess they finally are going to fix the problem. He has had the car since last wensday he keeps calling me that they need the car for a couple more days but doesnt really explain why. He called agian yesterday and he says my car has some issues with it He says they need to replace the Engine Housing, I'm sorry but i dont know what that is can anyone explain what this is and do they really need the car for that long??? Should i be worried that they did somthing to the car on accindent and not telling me?? A porter probably crashed my car and they are trying to fix it .

When i go pick up my car on wensday what should i do before i leave// check for dents and stuff, Is there a form they need to fill out before i leave the dealership? I dont want to leave with the car and then later find out that there is a huge dent in the side of my car .

And It's Under Warranty untill the end of 2009 YAY

go down to the shop today, ask to see your car. Talk to the service manager and don't leave untill they explain to you and you understand what is it that they are doing to your car. Why wait till wednesday if you suspect they had a accident. Do a suprise show up.

They really said "Engine Housing"? I have no idea what that may be. I agree with bamyi, get down there ASAP and have a look. "Some issues" would NEVER fly with me. Something is up, I suspect.

Could be that they havent gotten around to it yet, and are stalling because of it....
Suprise inspection sounds like a good idea to me....

Yeah, I once had a mechanic explain that the grinding sound I heard was one of the springs that had fallen out of the pressure plate and was grinding against the flywheel.

I asked him, "when did they put the clutch between cylinders 2 and 3 of a four-cylinder engine." He was speechless. I then asked him if he had even looked at the car (it had spun a cam bearing), and he admitted that he hadn't looked at the car, just the work order. (This wasn't a Nissan dealer, it was one of the "domestics.")

sup bro,
Yeah i would go down to the dealership myself and ask to look at the car.. and if you want to be more concerned about it i would bring your insurance appraiser or ajuster along.. they will do it for free.

good luck with it

I'm sorry, but taking a chance is stupid. If you really STRONGLY feel about being scared of a surprise visit because of future work, then when you pick up the car, go in the mornings where sun is bring and you can see every dent and scratch. DO NOT sign or leave, or even move the car 1mm until you've went through the entire car searching for chips, dents. If you think they repainted it, look for color differences between body panels. Shades, unsmoothness, thickness of paint, these all matters. Pop the truck, check the engine bay, see if you recognized any change. Call them now and request that they save the "used" or "broken" parts for you to exam later.

If you feel something is fishy, it probably is. You paid $30k to enjoy the car, why would you take a chance to let someone majorly screw you over?

erm...maybe I read this thread too fast..

But did you just ask the boards advice on whether that shop sounded like they were doing something shady...then when everybody gives a resounding "YES" you say 'oh well, I dont want to make enemies, so I'm gonna play it their way"?

What was the point of the thread then??

I agree; I think you have a reason to be suspicious (not to mention nervous) about what they're doing to your car! You don't have to be a dick when you go down, or bring your adjuster/lawyer for scare tactics. Just show up and ask politely what the **** is the deal with your car!

How much does it cost to replace the engine housing?

I think the engine housing is the building that they store engines in before installation.

Good thing you don't need a muffler bearing!

Ask them to top off your headlight fluid while they are in there.

I have to agree with the above posts. If you have the slightest notion that the dealer is screwing you over, go check on your car, and don't announce your visit. Allowing them to simply do as they please and not inform you about it will put you at the top of the list for Idiot of the Year 2006. I know it's early, but I think you could compete for the top five easily with this move.

+1, and if there is anything wrong with the car find the guy that told you the engine housing wad of crap and set him on fire. Just spray him down with a little lighter fluid and flame it up...
